Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

AZ Summer Golf
For AZ golf in the summer this course is in good condition and rate of play always seems to be good- never too jammed up.
Greens were in bad shape. Very little drinking water and carts had no coolers, no cart person. Better come prepared with your own coolers, ice and water. Course was soggy and the greens were in port condition. So many prairie dogs and dirt mounts. So many better options for the money. Look elsewhere fellow golfers.
Very nice, mature course with interesting variety
Conditions were great even though there was patchiness around the edges of a lot of green, but that really didn't effect the game as pin placements were far away from those spots. Played the back tees (6900 yds.) ... from there the par 3's were all 200-230 yds. All-in-all a very good experience and worth putting on your list of "to play" courses.
An AZ Staple
Toka Sticks is always a fun lil tract old school, mature course. Pretty straight away. #9 is always a challenge.
Fun course for the value!
Summer conditions
Staff is great and they are managing to keep it green in the heat. Except for some greens damage on the outside perimeter of maybe 6 or 7 holes. Looked kind of like chemical burn but they were working on it. I play this course year round and always enjoy myself. Maybe it’s the Kiltlifters on tap.
Golf
Always love Toka Sticks! Course is great, price is great and the golf is fun.
Great value!
Fast pace and good price. Only downside is it wasn’t as green is the last time I’ve played.
Enjoyable course
The overall condition of tees and fairways were good but the greens exhibited bare spots and dry areas.
Great Round!
We played as a twosome today and no one off before or after us. Fairways were green, greens were smooth and challenging. Used every club in the bag and course was picturesque. .Worth the money!
Poor management
We played this course on 4/11 and although when we started our round we knew there was a slight chance of rain by the 4th hole a storm came in with lightening, thunder and dumping rain which continued for over an hour and left pools of water on the greens. We headed in at the point the rain started (along with most people on the course) and were told by the staff that rain checks were only issued if the course was unplayable and that the course manager who was not on sight had to make that call. We were forced to wait outside the clubhouse for over a 45 minutes for the rain, lightening and thunder to let up but it never did and judging by the holes we could see the course was definitely unplayable and would be for quite a while longer. At that point everyone waiting gave the staff our names and phone numbers so they could notify us about a raincheck but we never heard anything. This course is definitely not worth $45 for 5 holes and management isn't customer focused!!! We won't be going back and will tell everyone we know or play with that they shouldn't either.
Excellent service and consideration for social distancing to allow us to play in a safe environment. Truly appreciated and can't wait to return.

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, under the Covid circumstances, we have decided to take all water jugs off the course. Ice coolers are offered in the grill for all players. We have addressed all issues with excessive standing water and dirt mounds are currently a daily occurrence that is being dealt with. We hope you come and play again.
