Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Pre shut down
Course pretty much scalped for overseeding to start. Nice track, will be better next time
Greens in great shape
Played this course a few months ago, and the greens were definitely hurting. Pace of play was 3.5 hours ... pre-7:00am tee time. Course is in great shape.
Value course with challenging holes.
Course is fun to play for most skill levels. Very few bare spots on the fairways and the rough was short enough to find a ball. The course layout and holes are diverse enough to keep your interest.
The major con for the course is on Hot days (and there are many in Arizona) there is only one course supplied water dispenser cooler. Because it gets so much use it empties quickly. Unfortunately the staff does not regularly check it to see if needs changing. With that in mind, bring at least one big water cooler for your own use if you decide to ride. If you walk, good luck keeping hydrated.
Eh
The course was fine, he was freshly cut piles of grass all over the course. They were dead trees and branches everywhere. The sand was hard as a rock. And for the price, it was way over expensive.
Better Hurry
Course was in great shape and worth the price. Better hurry before they over seed
Review
Courses in good shape, considering the time of year. A little Watergrass and rough around some of the greens but overall I’m pretty good shape. Greens are in good shape. Pay play was excellent and they had a cart girl on the course. Well worth the price.
Always in great to good condition
Great day at Toka Sticks. My wife and I played in 3 hours. Beat the heat!
Generally decent shape
Like a lot of courses, the bunkers need work. Temporarily lost three balls, one to a sprinkler head hole, one to a rodent hole and the other in light rough. Greens were good, fairways had some sparse grass areas. Staff is great.
good value
course was in good shape which is always the first question for a course in July in Phoenix.
was pretty slow for first 12 holes but i think the 2nd time the ranger spoke to the group ahead of us, it picked up. to be fair, it appeared to be a beginner in the group which is not fair to them going out at 8 am on a holiday.
Good day of golf
Fun Course
Played as a 4 on Sat. July 6th, 8:12am. Started and staff pleasant. Range all grass with plenty to hit from (turf at back of tee area). Small but nice practice green. Course itself can be difficult to navigate from green to next tee box but it’s a fun layout. Scorable for low handicappers while not too difficult for the high handicappers. Conditions were above average for summer. Fun time, pace of play around 4 hours and 20ish minutes (expect it on busiest day of week)
