About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Good hot deal rate
Got a cheap hot deal rate which is only reason I played here. $70+ is way too much to pay here but AZ golf rates are ridiculous so that’s what they charge. Conditions were good for this course - have seen it in bad shape before. Greens still slowish from overseed but should be good in another week. Overall a good experience!

Good course and reasonably priced
The course was coming out of overseeding and was in good shape. Although cart path only (some holes you ride in rough) pace of play was good. Definitely a must in the fall and winter when most courses overcharge you

Fantastic Conditions
Fantastic conditions tee to green. Overseed was a success. Greens are soft. Grass is green. And they've upgraded the carts to include GPS and Bluetooth with speakers so you can jam out. Solid bang for the Buck! Highly recommend!!

Good course for the money
New carts with speakers and GPS are nice. Winter grass came in nicely. Greens and fairways are in very good shape. Cart paths need serious work. Since clearing out the ravine, it is basically a barren eyesore, but at least the homeless encampments are cleared out. Please plant some native grass or something in there for ground cover! Decent course for the money though.

Good Shape, Pace Good, Can't complain
The course was in good shape and pace of play was good. Grass was coming in and having to drive on cart paths and rough made it a little tough to find your ball.

Great layout. Last day before overseeding
Great and challenging course. Course closing next day for overseeding so not in the best shape. Will come back again. Pace was 4 hours.

Over all
Greens are in very good condition the fairways can be a little on the rough side..probably my biggest gripe would be the number of players that either don’t know what they are doing or just don’t care and just linger on the course. Played a couple of time and took over 5 hours…

Great Value
A really nice track and great value for the money. I enjoyed walking it and was fortunate enough to have another walker in our group who knew the course and was great to chat with. It’s a overall a forgiving course but definitely challenging enough with some blind shots and sharp dog legs. I would play it again if visiting the area.

Grounds Crew
Why are grounds crew mowing and blowing grass on course in the middle of the round? On the fairway and greens less that 10 yards away, ridiculous. Won't be playing this course with that kind of course management :(

Course Played Well
CCGC was in generally good playing conditions. Tees and fairways were a little sparse. Rough was rough. Greens were fair, but a little slow. Sand traps were fair. Pace of play was good (just under 4 hours, with full complement of players on course). Value was also good (with Hot Deal). FYI: Probably going to be overseeded soon.
