About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

good course for reasonable green fee
course was in fairly good shape, fairways were a good length and no major spots; greens rolled at a moderate pace and pace of play was 4 hours. For this time of year is good. Staff, pro shop, starter and grill were friendly and attentive.
I recommend Cave Creek.

Fun course
Go to Phoenix a couple times a year and try to play 3-4 times a trip. Usually use golf now. This is a great course for a muni. Lots of fun and challenging holes. Always seems to be in good condition. Sometimes it can get slow. Great value for your money in comparison to majority of courses around town where $200-300 is the norm most of which have gotten way overpriced in the last couple years.

Cave creek.
Great value . Impressive conditions for a public / muni type track. Greens are respectable, fairways pretty lush and green. Better than a lot of higher priced places for sure. Barbed wire fences are a different touch.

Rough greens & cart paths
Some of the greens are very lacking in grass and bumpy. As other gorlfers have said, the cart paths are rough to nonexistent. Fairways are nice and wide open. Some standing water due to recent rain.

Ok
A day of golf is always better than a day of work! The course could stand some garbage picking. The front 9 is very rough but the back 9 was quite a bit better. Comparatively to other courses, we chose this because the price was lower and the reviews were pretty accurate. Good for warming up at the beginning of the season for a round.

3/7/23 Round
First and last time playing here. Took over 5 hours to play. Layout of course is in my view weird. Cart paths are mostly nonexistent. Enough said.

Best muni in town
Best affordable par 72 course in town. Greens rolled true and were quick enough to be difficult. Enough length without being totally punishing for the average golfer. Good practice facilities to warm up. Only thing that’s not so great is the range. There’s not a single flat lie out there. Other than that great course, no complaints. Will absolutely play again.

Greens need some work
Course was enjoyable to play. Greens were in fairly rough shape, very hard with lots of bare spots. Probably due to recent weather conditions. Looking forward to trying again later in season. Our cart died on the 6th hole. Cost us some time with our late afternoon start and shortened our round as they pulled the pins at 6:00 pm. staff was as helpful as they could be under the circumstances.
