About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Good course few complaints
The course cart paths are non existent and a few of the cart paths were totally destroyed, (probably from the recent storms). The course layout was interesting and kept you engaged. Greens a little fast. Slower than normal pace and no golf marshal in sight.

Cheap PHX Golf
Cave Creek is an affordable public course and great for players that need an open layout. There are a couple holes with hazards that challenge you to make a shot at times. A few of the greens are in poor shape.

Great condition course with some variety
The course was in great shape. Fairways had great grass. Greens rolled smoothly. Only 1 green had bare spot. Would definitely play here again

WELL MAINTAINED TRACK!!
Compared to a lot of courses, during this 114 degree heat, this course is holding up, really well. Fabulous greens, great to putt on. Every sand trap actually had fluffy sand. The fairways we're lush, green, not totally burned out....Hats off to the maintenance crew.
The gentleman behind the counter was very pleasant. All shirts were 50% off, but they didn't have my size. I did purchase a hat and towel for my wife. Cali, in the restaurant, made me an awesome hotdog and chips....,...A perfect day, a perfect course to play.
I will definitely book another tee time, real soon....

Customer service
The guys in 5he clubhouse didn’t seem all that hospitable. The beverage cart girl came around while we were on the 3rd hole. Then we never saw her again. The Marshall was a pretty good guy.

First time playing this course
Guys at club house check in were not very friendly, but the rest of the experience was really fun. Course was a little dry, but that is to be expected. Marshall gave us a few tips as he was stationed at the first tee box, and the Cart girls came by twice and were friendly,

Course anemities
The customer service at the clubhouse was so-so. The 2 yo7ng men didn’t seem very accommodating. We saw the beverage cart at the 3rd hole and never saw her again. The mashall was really friendly and informative.

Trash course condition... If you like 5 hour rounds - this is the course.
Played here the last 15 years and this was the worst. 5 hour Sunday morning pace. Worst course condition in years. I don't mind the burned fairways, but I mind the bumpy and slow greens. Waste of time and money.

Staff, bunkers, greens excellent.
Having said that, I can not recommend the course at this time although they were watering all day (10:30-3:30 ) along with applying fertilizer, the fair ways were toast. For $20 hot deal, just move your ball to the nearest green spot, " just be flexible ! "
