About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Great time except for the people in the restaurant were rude!

Upgraded
The facility has been upgraded. The parking lot has been paved, the washrooms updated and it looks like a new irrigation system was added. However the fairways on holes 7,8 and nine needs work.
Overall, the course layout and well kept greens, makes it a fun coarse to play

Terrible condition
Other than passable greens, this course is a disaster from tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers. The only thing missing were the goats.

Pretty good round
Played with a local who gave us very good course knowledge since we hadn't played here in 6 years. Never was pushed by anyone behind us. Fun and challenging course. Loved that there weren't that many houses along the course.

Good value for golf high season
Very well organized, crisp pace of play, and good value for early April in Phoenix. Very professional staff. Cart paths need some attention and some pin placements were ON steep slopes …. Pros would pitch a fit! But otherwise, fun and challenging enough from the whites for me (75 year old 15 handicap).

It’s not in Cave Creek!
Another Golf Now fooler. It’s a muni inPhoenix.. It shows of much play especially around the greens where carts seem to get as close as they can to the greens if there are no curbs. Cart paths are random and there are no markers for keeping them on track. One hole should have been marked under repair and hole relocated. Hole was right in repair area. Glad I played with guys who play there to know the layout.

Practise course management
Only time we could get on at a reasonable rate was 3:00. So could only play 16 holes. March prime time and beautiful weather. Cart paths are not well marked and difficult to see due to high knolls. Lunch at the canteen was quite good. Great day overall.

Horrendous course
Barely any green grass. It’s like hitting off concerte. Barely any cart paths.
