About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Great Condition
The course was in great shape. The greens rolled well and the fairways were well maintained.
Considering the time of year we played, the course was fine
Friendly staff and the course was as good as could be expected for the beginning of summer and 106 degrees. Come prepared with plenty of water and wet towels and you will do just fine.

CCGC off 19th and Greenway
Nice little course. The back nine is in better shape than the Front. Challenging fast greens with a lot of undulation. As always with courses here in the valley, it is not in as nice of condition in the summer VS. the Winter. Yesterday was a 5 hour round. As with most courses, they get greedy and pack in as many people as possible without properly spacing out the Tee-Times. Always a laid back atmosphere with a friendly staff.

Terrible service!!
We played this course twice before and always at the time to pay they come with extra fees. This time they increased the cart fee to 15 per person but they don’t have carts available. You have your tee time but no cart, so you need to wait 40 minutes to get the cart . You pay based on the time time because you don’t want to play when the weather reaches the highest temperature or the course has more people. This is not an honest course, the take advantage of the players and the situation

Decent Course
A decent layout but in rough shape off of the fairways. Cart paths on the front nine are awful, Some hidden ponds on the back nine. Greens putted better than they look. Not difficult.

Value and good conditions from tee to green
Course condition was very good. Misunderstood cart availability with green fees when booked on-line. Supposed to be fee for walking only. Called course yesterday and was told cart was included. Today course wanted $16 more to ride. Lady provided cart this time only. In future expect to pay extra for golf car.

Because of a n emergeny I wasn't able to play and hah to cancel, but I have played this course many times in the past and of the three municipal courses it rate third. However, said that, if the fairways don't dry out it is a testing yardage even from the white tees for a 15 handicapper.

Having some fun
Had some fun amidst all of the CV panic. I saw some people bring out their kids to play. Lots of walkers on the course. Maybe that made it a little slow or maybe it was all of the families. Don't know, but everyone was having fun. That's all that matters. The place was packed.
The course was a little dry. Lots of dead spots. Maybe this virus crap has made some of the superintendence to stay home. Or maybe it is getting close to over seed time. Don't know. I do know that a lot of people were out enjoying the day.

Staff is friendly but course is really beat up
Great Value
The best value in town for the money. Playing twilight hours or using Golf Now or a Phoenix Golf card works the best. Really good layout as well. Most Fairways are generous or have adjacent bailouts but 8, 9, 11 and 14 will cost you big numbers for wayward shots. Fairways are sometimes in rough shape- most likely beecause coarse is built on an old landfill. The greens are difficult but usually in great shape. Coarse crosses Cave Creek Wash 4 times so it’s a good workout to walk.

Good walking course
Managed the COVID19 situation well.
The rental pull carts are a shipwreck. Worse condition of any course we have played. Staff informed us at check in the pull carts had not been sanitized!?!? Fortunately we carried sanitary wipes. Starter was friendly and managed a bit of confusion that occurred. Our GolfNow Rez confirmation was for 9:20 and the course had our T time at 9:12. Not sure what happens there but have had confusion with other GolfNow bookings.
Nasty greens
The course is in fairly decent shape. There are brown patches of dirt on some of the fairways, but the main issue is the greens. Many of them are sloping and the holes were cut on the side of a slope. This makes for extremely difficult putting. Hard to get a good score when you are on the green in regulation, but you are lucky to three-putt.
Tee time was not available
I received confirmation that the tee time chosen was booked only to find out the time was actually 30 minutes earlier. In order to fit us in we had to break up our party of 4. Extremely disappointing. Golf course was very helpful trying to accommodate on a busy Saturday unfortunately we should have been advised by Golf Now as the tee time was booked 4 days in advance so there was ample time to follow up with a notification
I forgot to mention that the cart paths are very rough. They are mostly hard dirt or rocks and you do a lot of bouncing.
