The Encanto Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course designed by William P. Bell and built in 1936. It offers 6,404 yards of par-70 golf from the championship tees.
Reservations are required on the Encanto Golf Course, which is open year-round, and features all of the amenities, such as rental carts and clubs, an in-house professional and a driving range. Metal spikes are allowed.

Getting Ready for Overseeding
The course was dry and scalped, being readied for it’s annual overseeding. Though cut short, the grass carpet still allowed the ball to be lofted above the dirt surface, typically providing for a reasonable lie. The greens were firm and had fair speeds. Sand traps had good amounts of sand, though some were more plentiful (making it that much more complicated to exit with this inconsistency). The rough was indeed sparse. Overall pace of play was good (under 4 hours), as was value. I’ll give it another 3-4 weeks before considering to return, allowing for the new grass to mature.

Thought summer was over, but it was 105 degrees
Love the course. I play it about once a year these days. The front nine was very nice and comfortable temperature wise. The starter put me with a single, but that single was only playing nine holes. So on the back nine, I was waiting on a foursome for nine holes and it was 105 degrees in the shade when I finished.

Value for money.
The layout is very flat and a bit monotonous but very user friendly. I enjoyed it overall. Pace of play was pretty good ... under 4 hours ... some waiting but nothing too excessive. Good value for money.

Awesome Day On Green Grass
This course is in exceptionally good shape for any time of year, let alone after a scorching summer. Our pace was slowed by the four in front of us who may have been more interested in watching YouTube clips than keeping their cart off the green. Marshal was aware of their shenanigans, but only commented to us that they wouldn’t get away with having their carts so close (at least twice we watched them drive between the trap and the pin!) once the new GPS carts arrive next week. Do your job and inform the ones damaging the course and holding up play, not the three behind them!

Encanto 18 always a challenge
Encanto 18 is in good shape and very playable. This course has some of the most challenging par 3’s. The last par 3 played 205 to a front pin. The course also has some very challenging par 4’s. With really good drives on 9 and 15 the approach shots into the greens were in the 170’s. Both of these greens are also well protected with green side bunkers on either side.

Great value
Played this course many times, always is a great value in Phoenix. Good pace of play for a Saturday, course was in great shape.

Beverage cart
The beverage cart came around when I was on the 4th hole and didn’t need anything. Then I never saw it again.

All was great our 1st time here and we will be back but hope the greens are less sandy yes we came to the realization that putts were not gunna roll the way we wanted so gummies were a real thing lol ordered some food on the 9th hole where we saw the sign to do so but I had to wait on it and that allowed the player behind us to catch up! So we had to play faster to get a head and have a comfortable seperation. The course is very flat and wide so makes for an easy day! I like a bit more character! The carts are 100% tho Cave Creek get your hands on these when your lease is up!!!

Consistent
Played 4 hour round on a Sunday morning. Conditions were above average with greens slow, fairways and tee boxes green and well maintained. Staff was friendly and accommodating. As good or better than expected all around.
