About
The Encanto Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course designed by William P. Bell and built in 1936. It offers 6,404 yards of par-70 golf from the championship tees.
Reservations are required on the Encanto Golf Course, which is open year-round, and features all of the amenities, such as rental carts and clubs, an in-house professional and a driving range. Metal spikes are allowed.

Difficult greens
I hadn’t played here in a couple years and it was always a well priced, easy course. Only reason I was here today was price (I live a little too far away now to play regularly) was reasonable compared to everywhere else’s ridiculous rates.
It’s still an easy, somewhat boring layout, but that has its place and what I wanted for the day. Fairways were nice, bunkers were above average, tee boxes average, and rough the typical bare lie no grass average you’d expect this time of year.
The surprising, and somewhat disappointing, part was the greens. They are incredibly firm and fast for a muni, and supposedly easy course. Don’t get me wrong, they were in great shape, but there was a bit of a “stay in your lane” factor that Encanto should have considered. I don’t know about everyone else, but I come to courses like Encanto for an easy, and hopefully under par experience. Not stressing over 4 foot putts or if my wedge is going to hold on the green. I had a 4 putt on 11 and had to go back and look at my stats to see when the last time I had a 4 putt was. It’d been awhile.
Anyway, I probably won’t be back for awhile, but that’s mostly because I live far away. But I’ll certainly consider elsewhere if I want an easy day if the greens remain in that condition. I’d say they easily cost 6 strokes. Stay underneath the hole people!
After all that, it’s still a nice course, and in great shape. Greens just weren’t what I was expecting.

Fun course
Pace was a little slow primarily due to the group ahead of us, but the course was fun to play. Beware of the undulating greens and speed. Definitely a course where you need to hit short and not get above the hole

Great improvements
Was stunned by how good the greens are now at Encanto!! So fast and pure! You won't play greens like this at this pricepoint anywhere else. Very straightforward course and very flat. Great place for all skill levels.

Course was Great played in 4 hours fairways and Greens excellent just need to have some grass around greens if you miss your balloon rolls forever other than that I would definitely recommend this course

A gem
Beautifully maintained with quick greens. Although a flat course, all holes are interesting. And you better be below the hole on the fast greens. Encanto is just as good and even superior to many of the high-priced fancy courses in the area. It's become one of my favorite courses anywhere.

Nice Links Course
Fair pricing, great people and 19th hole for refreshments, cart person made the rounds nicely. fairways and fringe to greens in good shape. Ranger needs a course in time management ... We were 2:10 at the turn and finished in 4:15. Just because the group in front pulled ahead, we were not holding up those behind us.

This isn’t the old Encanto
I’ve been playing Encanto for 50 years now and have never seen the course in this good shape. It’s amazing. The green’s were in perfect condition and were as fast as any green I’ve ever played. The tee’s and fairway’s were perfect too. My hat’s off to the City of Phoenix for restoring this classic.

Great course to walk and enjoy the Phoenix "winter" weather.. Flat and wide open. Greens and fairways in great shape. Very few hazards.
