Enjoyable track in middle of Phoenix
Great conditions in all aspects! Pace was surprisingly under 4 hours with very few delays. Played with a foursome and we all respected the pace and each others shots. Only drawbacks were stip on front nine and relatively flat course. All fairways were in great shape, sand traps actually well maintained with daily takings and greens were a 9 of 10, especially on the back. Beautiful view of tall buildings downtown and amenities were fine. Tavern was real nice with remodel a few years back and hostesses were kind. Only downfall is price on GolfNow shows walking rate. However, $6 handcart and very walkable.
Great course
I have played this course several times and bring my friends out to play. We usually hit from the white tees about 6,000 yards. I have recently had couples on two different occasions come and play. They usually play the forward tees. But at 5700 yards they found it difficult. I don’t know why there is not more than 3 tee boxes offered. I think something around 5,000 to 5,200 would allow people who enjoy the game but get frustrated because it is hard to score. I believe this would be an easy fix as most of your holes have long fairways and you could easily set up another set of tees on the fairway 50-100 yards out and just make the change when you print new score cards.
I know my friends that I golfed with today loved the course but the reds were too long for them.
Sincerely

Great course
Reasonable price to play greens were nice speed decent layout with some nice view of the city. I will be back
Encanto 18
Nice course, centrally located, good pace of play, well kept course, fast greens, and excellent relatively flat layout. It’s not complicated and has a few 500+ yard holes. I thoroughly enjoyed playing it for my first time and as an intermediate player found the course interesting and challenging enough for me to want to play it again.
Good value
We were sent out as a twosome on a Tuesday around noon with a threesome in front of us (???) otherwise the course was full. The pace seemed a bit slow for us as a result. Course condition was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We totally enjoyed our round and will play there again.
Great Muni Course
Great condition, i was lucky to get paired with 2 great guys. We played the whites tee's it was challenging for me, i enjoyed it.
A good place to hit
This flat track is wide open and in good condition for price
Rough around the edges
First played Encanto around 1968 as a high schooler and it has changed a lot. I don't mind it being imperfect because of its meaning to me. Others might find the grens inconsistent and the fairways missing some grass to be a problem but I like the wide open fairways and the length from the back tees is something I can still hndle today. Always fun to play there.
Love great munis
Excellent layout greens subtle breaks took me a few holes to figure out dying speed is key
Next time in town this will be my go to
Good classic muni
Good value. Great for average players. Course and greens are in good shape, cart paths are shabby.
Great course for walking
First time playing in Phoenix. Course was every bit as nice as the club course I belong to in Oklahoma.
