About
The Encanto Nine Golf Course lies to the west of Encanto Park, and offers an executive-length golf course perfect for anyone who seeks a fast-and-loose round, with tee times passed out first-come-first-served. About an hour and a half is usually all it takes to play through the golf course.
The Encanto Nine Golf Course sits in the heart of Phoenix, and claims the honor of being the third-oldest golf course in Arizona and features a casual vibe, perhaps due in part to the foliage. Abundant natural palms line the golf course, and between them golfers can catch beautiful glimpses of downtown Phoenix. The course was designed by William P. Bell.

Nice beginner course
A fun course for a quick executive nine or b ginger experience. The greens were in surprisingly good shape. The pace of play as “meh” because of all the beginners. Hard to lose a ball here. Has a nice informal vibe.

Great 9
Encanto 9 is a classic course, well run and maintained by the City of Phoenix. Greens were a little fuzzy but not that bad. Challenging green lies. Fairways and approaches well mowed. Pace of play with so many walkers is never an issue, and nobody's freaking out with any waiting and enjoying the afternoon. 9 is over before you know it and you'll wonder where the time went. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Busy
With most of the other courses closed, I could understand it that they were backed up. I teed off about 15 minutes past my 10:00AM tee time.

A fun round
This public course is a fun round for novice or casual golfers. We took our 11 year old grandson. PhA great place for beginners, though some of the holes are lengthy par 3s, so par is unlikely for those just learning to play golf.
Cweppler - No doubt about it, we're looking at 4-bogeys on some of the Par 3's as an accomplishment, LOL

The staff works very hard to keep Encanto 9 in great shape! There is also a nice culture here. Love this place!

Simple, accessible, and a course for goof practice
I grew up in Phoenix and played Encanto-9 many times. Honed my recovery skills with the ability to find your ball a few fairways over. Played it again recently but with a purpose... practice my mid-irons. I carried 6, & 7 iron and played te whole course with just these two -- plus putter. Great for practice.

Fantastic 9 Holer
Really fun layout. Wide fairways and challenging greens. Chipping and putting is the key to scoring. Dakota is awesome as is the whole staff. Love playing here. Great value for the price.

All way fun
Staff at the pro shop was so cool and reminded me to fill a large cup with crushed ice and water with me on the walking 9 hole and it was getting hot

Flat, short course in good condition. Played after dropping a buddy at the airport. I would play again.
