Coronado Golf Course
About
Coronado Golf Course is as excellent place for golfers to work on their short game and it is also great for beginners. The course is relatively flat making it pleasantly walkable. The greens are large and the fairways are lined with trees, but still have generous landing areas. The holes are quite challenging with water hazards and bunkers coming into play. The relaxed atmosphere and affordability of the course have made it popular among locals, yet the course is still surprisingly not crowded most of the time. Coronado Golf Course has convenient practice facilities, including a lighted driving range that stays open until 9 every night.

Affordable fun
I have played Coronado for many years. For the price and location it can't be beat. Sometimes the fairways are very dry, but the greens are generally in good shape. Holes are more interesting then more expensive courses in the area. This is a great course to walk as well. In addition you can play the same 9 holes if you wish for 18. Low pressure affordable golf for beginners and intermediate players. Nice driving range and you can even sit down and have a beer after your game.
Cheap, but still awful
Good luck finding grass. Course was cheap but terrible. Fairways full of dirt patches and when you do find grass, its rock hard underneath.
Available
I can understand why you can play any time because it probable the worst course in Arizona.
Fair inexpensive 9 hole course
Reasonable layout, fairways very rough and uneven, greens were nice. Good value for a quick 9.
Do NOT spend money at Coronado.
ZERO STARS!! One star for this place is a joke. NEVER go to this golf course! Absolutely the worst course in the east valley (or that I've been to#. Do not pay money to these guys and here's why #no particular order):
-The owner hit on my girlfriend right in front of me and made her feel awkward
-They have kids running the "pro shop". Very unprofessional when an employee is cursing to another employee with customers around. That happens all day.
-Greens barely have any roll...you're putting on dirt...There is no true roll at this place.
-Fairways? What fairways? It is also, dirt
-Ranger smoking cigarettes right next to tee box on multiple holes #unprofessional#
-Doesn't pay attention to rate of play #should be rangers job, but he's smoking cigs instead#. Will be a 3 hour round for 9 holes. That's not golf. That's not fun.
-Charged $10 for a rider in the golf cart that wasn't playing and didn't even have clubs#round for actual golfer is $15 for 9 holes, which is a joke to begin with#. This course may be worth about $5. MAYBE. Now I can see Pebble Beach charging for a rider, but this is Coronado. Give me a break.
-The range balls are always old and dead. They don't seem to have enough money to replace them with new ones.
-Golf carts filled with cobwebs and bugs
-Only has a porta-potty for a restroom
I shouldn't have to say anymore, but I will.
-Multiple of other course options within 5 miles, so choose a different one #Continental, Rio Salado, Orange Tree, Starfire, etc#!
-A few of the "club pros" are clearly on drugs
-The Range is always on a hill and usually is too wet to compress the ball!
-Practice areas are the best part about the course, but there's always kids running around and ruining that as well.
-Doesn't have a hole that is over 300 yards.
To say the least, this course is not a golf course. It's a large version of putt-putt #well, at least in putt-putt, you have a grassy surface to play from#. I wouldn't take my kids here if I had any, that's how big of a joke this place is.
If you want to play golf, it shouldn't be at Coronado. I am very passionate about how bad this place is because they treated us like garbage and this isn't my first time around the block. For a course that is definitely hurting for money here's a message: don't make people mad that pay your rent
A Fun Little Course
This course was great for the price. The fairways were a little rough, but the greens were good. We saw two Trumpeter Swans on one of the little ponds. There were enough holes where I could use my driver but it was short enough so my wife really enjoyed it.
Quick inexpensive option in Scottsdale
This was a great 9 hole executive course for a quick round of golf during the day. Friendly staff. Short holes. Easy and fun round with my son before heading to a spring training game.
Perfect 9 hole course
I play this course in the afternoons just to keep my game from going into hibernation during the long workweek. Perfect course to practice all irons in the bag and even my driver gets some of the action. Currently the greens, in my opinion, are excellent!!! They are moderately quick and roll extremely true. The fairways have some dirt but it’s not a big deal.
Get what you pay for.
First time out. Very easy course. Straight fairways,
Fairways were kind of beat but at $15 for 9 holes, cant beat it. Had fun.
cheap
It is cheap and it has many challengeing holes. The course is really dry. So when hit your ball, it will roll along way
Average
Dont expect too much, nothing special. But it is a way to work on your short game and get out and have fun. Not the nicest course you'll find but its worth the ~ $15 it costs to play 18.
Last time at this course - ever!
I normally enjoy this course. It has a fairly good practice facility. Went there today with a 3:20pm tee time. Course was packed as usual, but nothing out of the ordinary. They call people to the tee, which is not their normal procedure. Well after watching group after group tee off. Many that I could have joined with, I finally decided to leave. It was close to 4pm, obviously I was forgotten about. And I practice there a couple times a week! Won't be going there anymore. Course condition 4 out of 5, customer service 1/2 out of 5.
If you are a 12 handicap or less, you won't miss anything if you never play this course.
Great price for 9 holes
Although the fairways are not watered and the grass not green the tee boxes are in good shape and the greens are in great shape. We played 9 holes in just over an hour and waited on a couple of holes, so the pace was excellent. For $10 a great course to tune up the short game.
Inexpensive
It is a Good place to practice. The fairways consist of dead grass. The greens were in good shape.
Coronado review
There were too many children playing which slowed the pace. We left after the 5th whole because it was just taking too long.
would not recommend
greens n fairway were horrible, and muddy areas we had to walk through.
Coronado
Although the grass is a bit rough it a great place to play for the money. The staff is excellent (friendly and courteous). Really enjoyed it.
CJ
Had a lot of fun on this course, very challenging greens, fairways were really dry (brown) but helped the ball go farther. Price was fantastic.
