Willowcreek Golf Course
About
Willowcreek Golf Course in Sun City has one regulation length 18-hole course, the Willowcreek Course, as well as one executive length course, the Willowbrook Course. The traditional layout of the Willowcreek Course features three lakes that form water hazards that come into play on four holes. The course is relatively flat but there are some minor rolling hills that cause uneven lies. The fairways and greens are consistently in good condition on both courses and they are both considered very user-friendly. The Willowcreek Golf Course facility used to be private but it is now open to the public.

I rate this course highly...
Course is in great playing shape, down to the sand traps. A good mix of trees, water and sand to make it challenging but fair. And on GolfNow, if buying a Hot Deal very affordable for this time of year....
No Fivesomes!
My round yesterday was the fifth time playing Willowscreek. I really like the moderate layout of the course. You must make good shots and putts to score, but, a player can also get around the course without extreme frustration due to difficulty.
The problem is very slow play. I realize this course is active with senior citizens and is popular for high handicap golfers. With that said, course supervisors should not allow 'fivesomes' on the course during the busy time of the golfing season. When we came to the 4th hole, a par three, there were four groups waiting to tee up! And 2 of those groups had 5 players. The rest of the round was about a 5 minute wait off the tee on every hole. This is not how golf was intended to play. We were only able to finish 17 holes due to darkness. Bottom line, a very frustrating round of golf for a 12 handicap golfer.
Very SLOW PLAY !!
Played first 5 holes in hour, next 4 holes took almost 2 hours, no ranger in sight so after the front 9 I called it a day, too many groups of 5 , will not be going back anytime soon, plus when you book online the course adds cart fees to the total this course is way overpriced like many of the Sun City courses, plus they over water so always standing on wet / muddy ground
Bob and Tim
Great course if you can keep it out of all the water on the course
Out of Carts
I paid for a full cart but never got one because they ran out. Pro shop was closed when I finished the round so I don't know if I will be credited. One guy on staff is very rude if you walk into the pro shop forgetting to wear a mask.
Goose poop
The course was strangely wet nealy everywhere. The fairways were thin. The greens were all wet. The ball would stick or nearly embed on the green or around the apron. There was goose poop everywhere especially on the back 9.
A good challenge
The course has good pace, the bunkers are a challenge. I did not see any ball washers at any of the 18 Tee Boxes.
Cart Path Only
The course was still cart path only. We walked so it didn't bother us. Pace was steady, but slow. Greens are in decent shape except for the ball marks. I don't think anybody but us fixed their ball marks. I realize that this is an older golf crowd, but if you can't bend over to fix your ball mark then maybe you shouldn't play.
Golf Now Glitch.....
I got to the golf course with my twosome partner and checked in. The person at the desk did not have my name, nor a Golf Now reservation confirmation for me.
I do not know what happened through Golf Now as I received an email with the correct date, time, and confirmation number.
I realize things happen, so I just chalk it up as a glitch and move on.
Got behind some aged golfers, ladies were very poor, one guy could hardly walk. They were three holes behind after nine. No effort to let us play through.
New charge for power cart
Starting this year the course is adding $12 to all green fees, which was an unpleasant surprise. I will avoid the Sun City courses if this continues.
R
Fa I rways and greens need to be cut. Grass was higher than normal greens were slower than n oral. Otherwise course in very good shape.
