Willowcreek Golf Course
About
Willowcreek Golf Course in Sun City has one regulation length 18-hole course, the Willowcreek Course, as well as one executive length course, the Willowbrook Course. The traditional layout of the Willowcreek Course features three lakes that form water hazards that come into play on four holes. The course is relatively flat but there are some minor rolling hills that cause uneven lies. The fairways and greens are consistently in good condition on both courses and they are both considered very user-friendly. The Willowcreek Golf Course facility used to be private but it is now open to the public.

Legitimate challenge for Mid handicappers
Fairways and greens in good shape. Most [not all ] traps have good sand depth. Enough water to make it interesting but not overly too much of a factor. Course was loaded so it took 4.5 hours to finish where 3.75 - 4.0 hours should normaly be sufficient
Standard Sun City
Course was in great condition, as expected for this time of year. Layout is pretty standard Sun City fare; flat, small greens, straight forward layout. Greens were in good shape, on the hard and slow side. People who frequent this course don't seem to care about fixing ball marks, there were plenty of them for so early in the morning. There was a particular 3 on the back which had a massive tree directly in front of the blue tee box, unless you have a 20 yard hook in your bag you're stuck bailing out to the right side of the green. For $40 there's more interesting courses in the west valley. Staff was nice, facilities show their age.
Fairways
The fairways are cut to short and they were wet love the the lay out.
Willowcreek
Course is in very good condition, and the staff was very friendly. It was very busy, but our 4 some played in just over 4 hours. Is worth playing again, especially if you can get a discount.
Worth a try....
Course was in decent enough shape, wide fairways, greens rolled true with a good deal of subtle breaks (and not so subtle ones), pace of play was below average with bigger then normal back ups on par 3 holes, overall a good value that pretty much mirrors the whole Sun City circuit of courses.....
Greens
The greens were great sand traps need some maintenance love the lay out,,
good experience
As expected when playing a course for the first time, it took me a few holes to get used to the course variations. I learned to trust the hand held GPS and did fine. The course was in good condition and the greens could be difficult (pin placement) but in good shape. The only negative was the poor use of flag color to determine front, middle, back. The colors meant nothing in a few cases.
Need Ranger.. Slow play !!
This course allows 5 player groups that walk & are SLOW !!
There is NO RANGER to get some of these groups to keep pace, there was a group of women that had 5 groups right behind them & waiting on each hole when they had 3 holes open in front of them which resulted in over 2.5 hrs front nine at which point 2 players in my group gave up & called it a day, this course really needs to keep the groups moving along but they don't even try.
A Bit of Heaven Again
So we had perfect weather on a Saturday and we have played here before....no memorable holes but always a challenge on all of them. We were set for a 12:45 tee time and got launched 15 minutes late. The front nine was a bit slow but pace picked up markedly on the back so we got finished before sunset. The course is in really good shape and the greens run true and fast.
It has a typical Sun City layout but enough wrinkles to keep you on your toes. All-in-all we will be back!
Nice course but very slow pace
I like the course and in good shape but very slow play, practice putting green was packed, couldn't even practice... typical Sun City course catering to the snow birds and sending out as many as they can, I was warned that the course was notorious for very slow play with no marshall and it was, 12:52 tee time and barely made 18, almost 3 hours for front nine... that's my only complaint, I play the northwest valley at least twice a week and this the slowest I've experienced yet this year.
Course in good condition
Too many 5 players groups. No policy for letting smaller groups play through. Pace very slow, took over five and a half hours to play.
5some
Play was very slow because they had a lot of 5some on the course . The 5some in front of us was so slow that it took 4 hours to play 13 holes. When our 3 some finally went around the 5some,the 5some started yelling and swearing at us. We tee off in front of the 5some,then they picked up on the green and started driving in to us.Arguments and fights all over on the course because of so many 5somes and extremely slow play.
GREAT LAYOUT
HAD A GREAT DAY, MET SOME GOOD GUYS AND PACE OF PLAY WAS GOOD
VERY SLOW play !! No ranger enforcement !
Started our round on time at 1:20 but this course has a women's league that because of them took 2 hrs. & 45 mins for the front 9 !! NO ranger ever came by so we could question him, they (women) didn't play the back 9 so with them gone our 4 some played the back in 1 hr 50 mins. when finished I complained to the clubhouse staff but was told they just do what they want to with no concerns with anyone else , I don't place blame on the women's league but on the staff for not enforcing pace of play, will not be returning here.
Good and not so good.
Pro shop staff...one grump and one nice guy. The course was in great shape and plays well for a shortish course. Fun. Until you run into a 6 some. Yes, a Six-some. The logic was a twosome ran into a five some and one guy bailed. They all complained about the 3 ladies ahead of them who were hitting 30-40 shots...after shots....after shots. We skipped (8 and 9 both groups )to get out ahead on the back nine. Good plan. Be prepared for slow play. We booked early twilight but still got zonked. Apparently, we learned, 5 -somes are common.
Nice, Very Nice
We teed off at 12:40....5 mins ahead of schedule and played a blistering pace on the front nine (1:45) before packing up to others on the back. Still just over 4 hrs so not bad. The course was in good shape from tee box to greens.
While fairly straightforward - there is some nice variety from hole-to-hole. The greens are large, running fast but very true. They have a nice practise facility and the carts are in good shape.
We'll be back.
Nice Simple Course
I like this course, especially if you haven't played in a while and want a nice course that doesn't tax your abilities. The course is wide and forgiving. Balls are easy to find, no major ruff. Greens are nice and most are big, not so easy, with some minor angulation. There is a small stream that runs through most of the course, about 4 feet wide, leading down to the various ponds throughout the course. (I think 3 large ponds). A small hook/slice can get you into the stream. The stream is constantly running and has a cement bottom so your ball will carry down the stream pretty fast. I hit the stream twice and by the time I got to where my ball went in, it was about 100 yards downstream and still moving. So if you think, at all, that you might be in the stream quickly go down stream to look for your ball before you spend time where your ball landed, hoping you didn't go in. All streams empty out into the ponds so your ball is gone if it goes that far. Not sure what the rules are in that case. I played my ball where I thought it went into the stream and took a stroke. As I said this is a well maintained course, rather simple, but nice. I recommend this course. It is a nice walking course.
