Why do they allow 5 sumes
It was a flustrating day, the course had a full tee sheet but was letting 5 sumes out which resulted in a very slow round. Based on this experience I won't be back to play here to many other courses in the same price range that enforce a pace of play using marshalls.
Sun City Riverview
This is an average course, but has its members/regulars. The course itself was so-so and the bunkers were all wet and muddy. The price of the course is average for this time of year, but they hit you with paying for carts at the course without telling you on line. This is the first time I have played a course in Arizona where they charged for a cart in the 5.5 years I have lived here.
The reason for the slow pace of play, almost 5 hours for the round, is that they were allowing 5 people to play together at a group. This mad it so you were waiting at every hole and green.
There is no Marshall on the course and people were ignorant. Our group of 4 were almost struck with shots by the golfers behind us 4 times and not once did anyone yell fore.
I would not recommend this course as there are plenty of better ones in the area.
Overbooked
Very pleased with the course conditions but they were oversold. Apparently it is common for them to book groups of five. I was told I could go out as a single even though the group ahead was a foursome and behind me was also a foursome. Two good players from the foursome ahead of me quit after three holes due to the pace of play. I got to the tenth tee in two hours and twenty minutes and decided to leave. I thought it was fair to ask for a nine hole credit but was turned down by a gentlemen that could have been nicer. I guess I took a risk playing on a Sunday and will not play this course on a weekend again.
5 somes
We booked a tee time as a double for the course. We fully expected the course to fill the tee time with another double. When we got there to play we were told that we were going to play as a 5 some. Apparently, they had several other 5 somes on the course already. I'm not a big fan of 5 somes. This slows down play even more than normal.
Saturday play
Pace of play was surprisingly quick for a Saturday in November. Forgot my rain jacket in cart and RCSC employee chased me down in parking lot to return it. That was much appreciated.
Cart fees
Out of line the cost for a cart.two people 24.76 oct it was 12.76 you all are a bunch of gready ————.local people are getting screwed all sun city courses.great course greens are the best.I guess the increase was due to cov19. Hahaha
Nice course
Nice course, long but not difficult. However we were in a 5-some which we don't like with a 4-some of ladies that caused us to wait on almost every hole - 4.5 hours.
Texan
I was very happy with the course and plan to play it again soon .
Course was packed
Cart path only today. There were a lots of walkers out. Pace was running a little bit slow. Pin placement was terrible. Almost every single one was on a slope or swell on the green. This slowed down things even more. This was a stupid move. The greens were a touch slow but not too bad considering it just came out of overseed. Fairways were in good shape. Because of the slow pace the group behind us hit into us even though they could see us waiting for the group ahead of us to clear the green. They didn't yell fore or anything at all.
To the course managers: It is already cart path only which slows things down. Do not place impossible or difficult hole/pin placements on top of that. This is a pace killer and there is no need to do this.
