Good Sun City course
Have played this course several times and it is always in good shape with great greens that one needs to play a few times to figure out. Played on Super Bowl Sunday in Less than 3 hours as a twosome. Got a good deal on Golf Now and would recommend the course to everyone in the Sun City area.
Good Experience
Mostly a good experience - good layout, wide fairways and good undulating greens. Our 3 some was bumped to a 5 some, which we weren’t happy about, however the young fellows who were added were a pleasure and we all had a fun round. On the downside our tee time of 7:52 on the back side and the first few holes directly into the rising sun was brutal.
Best Kept Secret in the valley
These folks know how to run a golf facility. The track is thoughtfully laid out to challenge all handicaps. The fairways are lush and greens fast and at times difficult.
The staff is extremely friendly... the best!
Challenging
While the course itself is not very long, it is still quite challenging. The greens complexes are extremely tough. Miss it in the wrong place and you are looking at a tough up and down or a 3 putt. Course conditions are very good namely tees, greens and fairways.
SunCity Riverview
I have played this course many times...they re-did the green complexes a couple of years ago and made the short game and putting more difficult ( interesting )..other than the greens this course is fairly easy..the course is usually in good condition tee to green...off the rough line is dirt ..the staff in VERY friendly especially Jay behind the desk...the problem is pace of play...not unusual for Sun City courses..SLOW SLOW SLOW...as the summer approaches the pace of play should get better...i'll be back.....later
TOUGH greens !!
Have played this course 10 times and as before the greens are in great shape but VERY UNDULATING !!
I usually have 28-32 putts a round but every time on this course it's close to 40 and all the other players score about the same, plenty of sand in bunkers , fairways in good condition, pace of play a little slow at 4:20 hrs but after all it's Sun City so you have a few walkers & not all players are concerned about the pace of play, but the break on most putts will bring looks of amazement ...rolly polly greens
I had a great time. The only problem was a foursome in front of us were very senior and a little slow. It took us 2:45hrs to finish the front nine. After that we finished the back in 1:47hrs.
good value
Riverview is a typical Sun City course. Nice wide fairways, not too difficult. Greens with lots of slope to keep things interesting. Fairways are firming up this time of year. Greens still receive shots reasonably well.
Good value.
The people involved with the maintenance and management are to be commended. The course is immaculate, exceptionally well groomed, neat and tidy. A treat to play. Will be back.
Tee sheet management
First let me state that I really like this golf Course! What I don't like is the priority of the group's. We had an 8:00 Tee and went off the first hole. When we got to the turn we were told to check in with the pro shop. There we were told that there was a twosome and a fivesome in front of of and had to wait. I was always told that players at the turn had priority over new tee times. They didn't care. I guess I will play North, South or Willow creek going forward. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
Retirement
Great retirement course. Wide fairways and great greens. I was very happy.
Fun Course
Fun course to play, fairly wide open from the tee's, the greens had a lot of levels and undulation. Best sand in the bunkers I have found in AZ. Pace of play was good and value for money was excellent. Will play there again.
pace of play is slow always
Have played the course a few times and always have the same issues. pace of play is slow. we were behind, not one, but two fivesomes. everytime we play the course there is some problem in front of us. the bunkers have some much sand in them its sometimes unfair and for some reason the greenkeeper must feel like he's mad at everyone because the pins are always in the hardest spots. for so much play with retired people its seems they would make the course more user friendly. probably won't play it again.
disappointing
Have played Riverview often for years and the course condition was the worst I have seen in some time. Don't know if it has to do with the reseeding but the fairways were cut very short causing brown areas and difficulties in hitting. The greens, usually fast and well maintained, varied in speed and condition making putting inconsistent.
Hope it is a one time problem as I really like the course and people you play with.
Decent enough
Course Played longer than the 6000 yards I chose to play at. Could have been due to my lousy ball striking!! Pace was good (4 hours), conditions were ok although I thought the sand traps had too much sand in them. Overall a good challenge....
