For this time of the year this course is in great shape if you can hit the fairways, greens are elevated and slot of breaks.
Much improved
This is the third time this year we have played this course and it was in excellent shape. Very few golfers after 11:00. Highly recommend.
Great day
With hot deal rate you can't go wrong. Sure not perfect but what course really is? If you want to golf a clean friendly course that allows you to try to hit long I would definitely recommend you give it a go! If your disappointed then golf high end course's only.
Fun course
The course is in great shape, greens hold a good shot, roll at a decent pace. Bunkers and fairways in very good shape for this time of year.
come golf
this is sun city course -- for summer greens and fairways were in good condition
Great course
Course was in great shape which can be difficult in Arizona heat. Will play here again.
Average Sun City Course
Riverview was an enjoyable track. The layout is entertaining with a nice difference between every hole. There's a nice spattering of trees, bunkers, and water giving the eye plenty to look at. The staff was very friendly.
My complaints stem from the maintenance of the course. The practice green was very dead/dying, and it has an extreme gradient to it; which made it basically impossible to get a feel for the greens. The fairways were in rough condition, having an upsetting about of areas where there was no grass. The putting greens (which are difficult but fair when in good shape) were unfortunately a little sub-par.
All that said, it's tough to beat golf for under $20. We will definitely be back for more during the summer months even knowing the conditions aren't perfect.
Great course- great value!
Having never played this course before, I relied on some of the previously posted reviews. Some were mixed as to pace of play and condition of the course. I found the course to be challenging, particularly the undulating greens. Having said that, it was challenging in ways that a golf course should be. The course was in excellent condition- fairways and greens. Pace of play was good- I finished in about 3-1/2 hours playing as a 3-some. I would recommend this course to anyone who would enjoy a round of golf that includes water and real sand, and good greens.
Greens are the course
Good layout. No two holes are alike, unlike a lot of the Sun City courses. Greens are very challenging with their undulation
Greens are interesting...
While the course is wide open and very playable, the greens run at different speeds, are hard to read and have some of the most unfriendly cups I've ever seen. It's almost impossible to make a ball die in the hole, since every one seems raised. Fun course, but you better play it a lot if you want to score well. I played with another first timer who said he would never play it again because of the greens then made two birdies in a row on the back and retracted his earlier statement. You're going to love it and hate it in the same round!
Nice round
Staff was very good, along with pace of play. Greens and fairways were in very good condition. Placement of pins made it quite interesting, but still able to go the distance.
Surprisingly Good!
The temperature was perfect but the wind was a factor. However, this course was very enjoyable especially if one's shot is not as accurate as you might want. It is a typical Sun City layout with some water and some sand bunkers but generally the fairways are quite easy and straightforward. Landscaping was not too difficult either. Tee boxes were well-maintained and a good cart path all around 18 holes. What was surprising were the greens! In excellent condition and VERY challenging to read. This really added to the experience. Last but not least was the staff - they were very friendly and accommodating. Pace of play was just under 4 hours with one group ahead being a bit slow.
Course is pretty wide open, but in good shape, we probably play there in the future
Course to ourselves on a Saturday, sort of
For a late April weekend in Arizona, the weather was absolutely perfect and the course was wide open. The fairways were in great shape as were the greens. The sand traps actually had sand in them which can be a rarity for some course west of Phoenix. For the first 11 holes we did not have to wait to tee off. Slowed down some on the back nine but still finished in four hours.
needs grass on greens
The greens are very sparse and need attention or by mid summer they are going to lose them.
