Riverview Golf Course

enjoyed playing course, good conditions of fairways & greens, fun course to play intricate greens made course alittle more difficult

I have played Riverview many times so I am familiar with their fivesome policy so I was very surprised by how slow the front nine of this round was going. At the seventh hole I observed there was actually a group of 6 golfers playing together. This was slowing down the pace of play even more then usual. A course ranger was making the rounds but I do not believe he did anything to breakup the group of six.

This large group and some of the fivesome pairings ahead of me were only playing 9 holes so the back nine of the round went smoothly and at a good pace.

If you have not played Riverview or the other Sun City Golf course before just know they do allow groups of 5 and that many of the course regulars walk the entire round. Take this into account when you are planning your round.

First time back at Riverview in a couple years and probably won’t come back at least not until summer. Played alone teed off at 2:42pm on a Monday. Knew being single I’d catch those in front of me. Joined the two ahead at 3 tee when we got to 4 (par 3) theee weee 2 groups waiting on the tee - two 5 somes with a single in between…..???. Thinned out a bit next 2 holes but on the next par 3 (#7) again 3 waiting. Played 9 and bailed….2 hours and 51 minutes. See ya in June maybe

I walked off after playing #3. I’ve played in SC quite a bit in the off season because it’s cheap. However, I wouldn’t play any of the SC courses right now even if you paid me. I got to the 4th hole and there were 4 groups on the hole. 1 on the green and 3 waiting to tee off. One of the guys said that there were several groups of 5 up ahead and they were walking. Who allows that? I booked shortly before playing and I feel that I should have been informed about how far behind they were. Just took my money like I’m a sucker. I will wait to play here again this summer when y’all go back north and shoot 100+ up there.

My wife and I like to walk courses but we try to be careful in choosing par 72s. This course was perfect for us, just over 5 miles per the fitbit. Plus we golfed one of our better rounds. Had a few errant drives but the rough is pretty wide and very forgiving. Most wide shots were playable.

Fairways and greens were very nice except i must say the greens were pretty solid. Made them very fast but also not easy to stick long shots to the green. I had several approach shots to the flag that bounced and rolled off the back. Very seldom left a divot and when it did was very shallow and hard to repair.

Sun City courses charge way too much for cart rental; most courses at most $18 for the cart not $15 per person; we would play there more often because we like the layout and staff but to charge $25 per person for the cart is ridiculous 😡😡

Par 3 fourth hole one group on T box and 3 groups waiting. Par 3 on back nine almost as bad. Course in fair condition but slow play can be frustrating.

No rangers on the course to speed up play 5.5 hour round. Nice course great people I was paired up with will play again here after the prices drop
