Wolf Run Golf Club
About
Wolf Run Golf Club is one of south Reno's most popular courses. The course is situated amid the Sierra Foothills, tumbling across a picturesque desert landscape sprinkled with native flora. The layout has many risk-reward opportunities and the par-3 holes are especially fun. The hilly terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing some tricky uneven lies and there is a meandering creek that slithers along the fairways. Though it's wide open, the golf course requires a bit of accuracy and some good course management. The elevated tees offer some spectacular views as well as some intimidating approaches to the fast, undulating greens. In addition to the golf course, Wolf Run also has a practice facility with a driving range and putting and chipping greens. You can also get your clubs repaired on site.

Painfully slow
They had 2 tournaments which they forget to mention when booking a tee time. We’re only allowed to go to a certain hole and then had to wait until the tournaments got at least 5 holes ahead. I ended up leaving after 6 holes. From 1 - 6 holes took about 2 hours because of so many people. Not sure I would come back
This course is in excellent shape
Great course. The course is in great shape and the greens are perfect even though that made them very challenging as fast as they were. Always stay below the hole on this course or you will be 3 putting or more.
course wasn't closed BU
Cold, standing water on greens, chance of thunder showers, rain bouncing 2-3 inches. first time lost with Hot deals
Great layout
Every hole is different. Greens are hard to read. $50 is a little too much but $35 is good.
Fun elevation changes
I really enjoyed playing this course! It was a cold, windy day evan a little snow, but I still enjoyed it. I had played Red Hawk Lakes the day before and really wanted to go back and play the Hills but was told by a buddy to check out Wolf Run. I did not regret it! Red Hawk might have been in slightly better shape, but I loved the elevation changes and the challenges that Wolf Run presented. The Par 3s are long, but fun! Watch out for the course mascots.....the marmots! They're everywhere, but they don't scream at you!
Early season
Course is in pretty good shape.........greens need to get punched and rolled..........they are fast but putts wander......
Windy Winter Wolf Run
I played this round in mid March 2017. Recent rains and heavy snow in the mountains mad emergency think I was in for a bust; not a chance. thanks to the terrific work of the course superintendent and staff, the course was in amazing shape (given the weather conditions). I have played here before ad enjoyed the course. This time, not too many players to content with, so I played 18 in 3.5 hours. Last time it took over 5.
I really like the elevation changes of tee boxes and greens, and the staff are doing a great job of clearing out the old shrubs, looking very nice.
The staff were helpful and friendly. no complaints for $34 with cart at 2pm. Looking forward to next time.

Wolf Run GC great vistas
I was able to walk on at 2pm. The pro shop and restaurant were clean and well maintained. The putting and chipping greens were terrific. Because the weather was great, the pace of play was poor; 18 holes - 5.5 hrs.
Will return during a weekday.
My favorite course in Reno
I love this course. Challenging yes, but a good score is doable. Beautiful views abound a well taken care of course. Friendly customer service oriented staff makes golfing a pleasure. Once again, my favorite course in Reno.
Slow play
Took almost 6 hours to play this round. The unwillingness if officials to hurry up clearly obstructing foursomes is ridiculous.
Excruciatingly Slow Play!
Took 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete the first 3 holes and 4 hours and 20 minutes to complete 13. Groups were stacked up 2 and 3 deep on every hole.....NO LIE! Management had booked a tournament on this day and not bothered to tell anyone not involved in the tournament. Trying to get Marshalls to speed up play were to no avail. Overall, a horrible experience. Overpriced for conditions of the course and facilities. Course is not worth the play.
Excruciatingly Slow Play!
There was an Octoberfest Tournament on this day. And the course had all the elements of the real thing. The only thing missing was the lederhosen. Why management decided to host this type of tournament is bewildering. Really gives the course a bad reputation. Groups were stacked up 2 and 3 deep on every hole.....NO LIE! We watched as a guy drove a cart off the bridge on the 4th fairway and rolled it into the ditch. How he snapped the wooden beam on the bridge is beyond me. Broke the axle on the cart too boot. Course staff gave him another cart! We watched as he proceeded to abuse that one as well and throwing clubs and swearing, all with a young kid in the cart with him. Management did nothing to speed up play. I've never been around so many irate golfers in my life. It took us an hour and 10 minutes to complete 3 holes and 4 hours and 20 minutes to complete 13. I couldn't take anymore and we left at 6:00pm. I play a lot of golf and a lot of courses and this was by far and away the worst experience I've ever had on a course, bar none! Course really needs a management change.
Always overbooked
The course layout is great and usually in good condition, though it suffered due to the drought. They seem to not care about the tee box conditions and seem to always put the tee area where the ground has clearly been neglected and beat to shreds. Last three times I've golfed, the rounds have exceeded 5 hours. Hey cram as many people in as they can and never have a marshal out to at least put an effort into keeping a decent pace of play for the players. Waitin 7-8 minutes per shot is ridiculous and needs to be addressed.
great layout
The course has a great layout, and its nice to be away from houses and roads. The maintenance of the course left a lot to be desired. The fairways look like they haven't been cut in days, and no sand in the bunkers. On a 90 degree day, no halfway house or beverage cart was to be seen or heard of. Couldn't find a restroom till almost finishing the back9. Wouldn't come back and play here unless I got a hot deal on golfnow.
Excellent course
I played this course for the first time as I just entered college and fell in love with this course. Excellent layout. Good scoring conditions but it can bite you in the butt if your not careful.
6 hour round - need I say more
I love this course during the week, but I will never play here again on the weekend. The course mismanagement let way too many people out there.
Great test of your skills
Challenging course for all levels of golfers. Some course knowledge is an asset to hitting good position shots.
Wolf Run
Definitely enjoyed the course. Great views of the mountains and the Reno valley. Nice use of elevation changes throughout the course. Lots of desert and sagebrush to capture wayward shots. One of our threesome had many in the scrub and I didn't feel comfortable wandering through those areas. More than likely, no self-respecting rattlesnake would hang around there, but I was rather wary. Played the blues at about 6500 yards but it played a little shorter due to altitude. Very fair track, very good condition. Would certainly play again on future visits.
first time
big fun to be had here. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Let us play as a couple even though we were scheduled to be paired up with 2 singles. had no hold ups or pushes from behind, in fact it was almost like having the whole place to our selves. Had a great time and will definitely return.
