About
Wolf Run Golf Club is one of south Reno's most popular courses. The course is situated amid the Sierra Foothills, tumbling across a picturesque desert landscape sprinkled with native flora. The layout has many risk-reward opportunities and the par-3 holes are especially fun. The hilly terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing some tricky uneven lies and there is a meandering creek that slithers along the fairways. Though it's wide open, the golf course requires a bit of accuracy and some good course management. The elevated tees offer some spectacular views as well as some intimidating approaches to the fast, undulating greens. In addition to the golf course, Wolf Run also has a practice facility with a driving range and putting and chipping greens. You can also get your clubs repaired on site.

Disappointed
This course was so overwatered, including many of the greens, that I simply walked away disappointed. That, and this course is built on a slope (which is fine), but when it’s wet you end up taking a lot of turf trying to swing through your shot. What I don’t understand is that many of the tee boxes are on a slant, who builds a course like that?
I’m a decent golfer, 13 handicap, and really felt that this course could be so much better in simply maintaining it correctly. Someone isn’t keeping an eye on their maintenance crew.
Better conditions than before. Needs drinking water stations.
The greens and fairways are in good condition. There is no drinking water on the course. They turned it off during 2020 covid and have not turned it back on. That virus is not spread by drinking water fountains and they just want us to pay $3 for a bottle of water. This is bad service.
Maintenance was poor
Weather was quite warm, but the course was so over-watered quite a bit of the fairway and many greens were saturated. It’s hard hitting a good shot unless you pick it clean, but many shots are on a slope so it was sloppy. One thing that baffles me is why are many of the tee boxes sloped? C’mon, give golfers an even lie on the tee boxes.
105 Degrees and no water on the course
Nice course. Good staff. But it is malpractice to allow golfers to play in 105 degree heat with no water fountains or jugs of water. Very surprised
Good Northern Nevada Course
Greens were fast and in great shape. Course had a few dry spots but that’s normal in NNV. Staff was great, fun course for the price.
Slow play
Too many people on the course, pace of play was slow, tee boxes need help. The greens are in good shape but getting there is the problem
Very Wet
Like the layout, everyone was kind, but the course conditions were ridiculously wet everywhere. Some of that water needs to go on the greens, we thought the greens were really firm on approach shots. Everything seemed to roll to the back. They need to be more receptive.

Wolf Run Review
For the most part course was in good shape. There are some cart paths that clearly cut into playable areas that should be addressed. More grass plug filling and barricades to protect the fairways and green areas are needed
