Teeing off with my resort in the backround Photo submitted by u912007132 on 05/31/2019
Value for money
Course in ok condition but greens just been treated
Average
Post hurricane, so not sure I should be too harsh. There were lots of weeds on the tees, greens were fairly well kept. Staff was very nice, very friendly and everything very clean.
Beachwood Myrtle Beach
The course remained in good condition after Tropical Storm Debby. Still, enough water on the course do require cart path only play. As always, an enjoyable golf experience.
Slowest pace of play ever encountered
There were early signs of trouble - even with an 8:20 am tee time - golfers were lined up like planes at Dulles airport waiting for take-off. We weren’t able to play our first hole until almost 30 minutes later!!
Then some yahoo ahead of us was consistently hitting his 2nd & THIRD shots from BEHIND the forward tees. But a Marshall never appeared to ask him to move up or improve the pace of play.
8:20 am tee time and we didn’t finish until 2 pm!!!
Nice place
The staff in the clubhouse was very friendly. The starter was very helpful getting us started and when we finished was great.
Beachwood Myrtle Beach
I always enjoy playing at Beachwood. The keep the course in very good playing condition. Always an enjoyable experience.
Worst pace of play ever experienced
I had an 8:20 tee time and didn’t finished until 2 pm!! They had golfers lined up like planes at Dulles airport. Our round began 20 minutes late!
Then - some guys ahead of us were playing from the white tees and consistently hitting their 2nd AND 3rd shots from BEHIND the forward tees! But a starter never once showed up to encourage them to move up or play faster.
Thankful I was paired with some nice local ladies - because we had to wait 5 min each hole just to tee off. Had lots of time to get to know one another.
Great Local Muni
My family goes to NMB every summer and my wife and family enjoy the lovely beach, and U get in a few rounds of golf and Beachwood is always enjoyable. This year the course was in fabulous condition, and the staff was friendly and welcoming as always. Played a local private course with a friend, and they wished their greens were as nice as Beachwood.
Great staff and course
Loved playing this course....had a late flight so stopped here and was very impressed by the experience. Staff was great and course is very nice.
Excellent
HAD A GREAT TIME. COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE. PLAYS A LITTLE LONGER THAN I EXPECTED..GOOD, CHALLENGING WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT. MADE A COUPLE NEW FRIENDS TO BOOT....LOLOL
Nice course
Staff was on top of everything, friendly, there when you needed them, not when you didn’t. Carts were clean, and well maintained. Course was in good shape except the holes that were being aerated, which was half the course. But they have to do routine maintenance sometime
All in all, was fun day with family on the course.
Pricey for the conditions
Had a morning tee time with a rider guest. I was charged $25 I think to have my wife sit with me on my cart. The fairways were in decent condition on majority of the holes, they had just aerated the course and a few holes were basically unplayable in the fairway. The area around many of the greens were in very bad condition, basically dirt on the front fringe. Food was very good and the staff was friendly. Probably wouldn’t play again for the $95 w/ cart and rider. I believe the course was $65-70 without the rider.
Excellent prices for quality of course
Compared to most golf courses nearby, the Beachwood Golf course is one that truly cares about your wallet. As of the day of this review, they charged roughly half of what the other golf courses would charge for 18 holes and a cart. They also had a golf cart drive around offering drinks and snacks while you golfed and that was very convenient during a hot day like that day was. The staff was excellent, organized, and friendly… made it very easy to get around. I would recommend this course to anyone so give it a try.
