Very relaxing
Very relaxed feeling about the course. Good place for beginners and seniors. I"ll be back!
Fun Course
This is a short course with 4 par 4's and 5 par 3"s. Not a lot of people on the course so it was really enjoyable. Greens a bit bumpy but the ball did roll fairly true. I will play this again just to get nine holes in quickly.
Only got 7 holes
Had a first tee class going on was told we could tee off at hole 2 when we got to hole 2 there were kids on the fairway for the class so we had to skip to hole 3 overall facilities are good everything very close easy to walk mostly par 3's. Greens need some work but pretty nice course
Best bang for the buck
Course is in much better shape than when I played it 8 years ago. Greens are a bit slow since they were a bit soft and grass a bit long. A few greens were slightly beat up with dead grass/uneven surface. But heck, just $3 for 9 holes and a bucket of balls (thru GOLFNOW), I am not complaining. Weather was PERFECT, warm with just a breath of wind. Beer only $2.50.

Pigs took the Place apart. Wasn't very good before. I will not waste the Gas again. Sad they don't spend any money on course maintenance.
Can't beat for the money!
Golfnow.com has 11:30am & 1:30 pm 'hotdeals' at this course for $3. Yes, $3! It comes with a small bucket of balls, so for the $5.49, you end up getting 2+ hrs of golf...no better way to spend five bucks!!
The course is a mess right now (feb'14) as they've got major sections on almost every hole torn up to rid crabgrass and re-plant. But again, Great value for the money (and I've got reassurances that the $3 Golfnow deal will continue once its fixed.
not bad for $5
can't go wrong paying $5 fun 9 hole. Easy for beginners like myself.
Good and bad
Great for the price
Greens are spongy and that makes them more difficult
This course offers great value
Course is in better shape than last year. Fairly well maintained and a speedy pace of play. Good value for average golfer.
Good course for beginners.
The staff is friendly and informative. The greens needed some attention but the fairways and bunkers were in good shape. I played nine holes on Saturday and Sunday. I walked both days and finished in just under two hours each day. I like this course because I can take my time and work on my game.
Nice For the Value!
I was pleasantly surprised! Great course for the value! Easy course. Good for all levels of golfer.
Countryside golf
It was a fun little 9 hole course.
On the 2nd and 9th holes you had to shoot over a ravine.
We enjoyed the view of the California countryside while playing.
Snacks and drinks available but no cafe.
Hard to knock for $5 but..
I travel 30 minutes to play the nine holer and the mix of par 4's makes it worth it usually. The greens have been in better shape but it is the end of summer. Overall a playable track.
Fast 9 hole
Great 9 hole to brush up on short game
Have fun with your irons
$5 but course is in repair...
This used to be one of my favorite when I started playing 7 years ago... but under some major repairs & cannot recommend till its fixed...
A nice walk in the park.
If you want to practice your short game or you have a couple of hours to kill while your wife is shopping in the nearby outlet at Gilroy, this is the place. Consider that the 9 hole walk rate on Sunday was $5, one should not expect too much. In addition, one extra bucket of practice balls was thrown in. In fact, the condition of the fairway was reasonable. The greens were very slow and patchy but OK. One had to keep a look out all the time Because the course was very compact so there could be a lot of stray balls from adjacent fairways. Be patient and enjoy the walk.
great course for the money. the course looks better each time i play!
great course for the value. great for beginners or those on a budget who want to play alot.
Great place to play a quick 9
I found Gavilan to be a very convenient and inexpensive course to enjoy a quick round of 9 holes.
Great value
The course is not a pristine, but the value can't be beat. Perfect course for beginners.
This is a quaint, short golf course with 6 good par fours. It is perfect for a beginner in golf.
The pace of play is fast, The fairways and T-boxes are in great shape. The greens are slow because they are growing them back to top condition because of neglect from prior ownership. I would recommend this course to anyone, especially to a beginner or a golfer with a high handicap. You can't beat the price.
