Augustine Golf Club

About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Augustine is back
A last minute decision to play golf elsewhere due to a tournament at my home course was a blessing in disguise. Augustine has been transformed from a #%?!! course back to what it originally was, which is a premium course. Mind you it was cloudy with occasional light rain and the greens had just been punched and the traps are ground under repair. For a short time longer That being said this course on a sunny day with healed greens and repaired traps is going to be one of the better courses in Northern Virginia. My biggest concern is pricing. The new ownership groups rates at Raspberry Falls currently are laughable, but they get it because of where it is in Loudoun. I hope they don’t go overboard at Augustine. If so, I guess GolfNow will come to the rescue from time to time. At least I hope. I’d like to return.
Well..
Course layout is one of my favorite in our community but condition and detail were awful 😖
Wonderful course and staff!
I was very happy to become Associate member today! Course is a lot of fun and the staff are very friendly and helpful! Doug Walczak the golf professional made me feel comfortable and invited. Bud, Bruce and the young lady at the front desk were great! Looking forward to many rounds of golf and making it my new home away from home. Thanks again to all the staff!
Great course
This is a beautiful course. The staff is very friendly.
Great value
The golf course has a great layout. Greens were slow but rolled fairly true. Overall, can't be the value.
Frustrated
Played with my son and my Father who is 83 years old. Thought there was no way they were going to designate cart path only given how dry it has been, despite rain the day before. However, it was cart path only and my father ended up walking over 10,000 steps on a 95+ degree day. The only standing water was in the bunkers and the fairways could easily have taken cart traffic. Speaking of the sand traps, absolutely awful. Like hitting off hard pan. To top things off, greens were SLOOOOOOOOOW. It seemed as if they had not cut them. Just a totally forgettable experience and I will not be returning.
Beautiful course and getting better
Lovely course with pure greens and well-maintained fairways. Course was cart-path-only which showed because they were striving to get the course looking as clean as possible as well. Short and curvy course (only pulled driver three times from the white tees, and once was to drive the green). Well worth the money, will be back again soon!
Ps. rated pace at 3 stars only because a foursome - dad and three pre-teen kids on a Sunday - were playing in front of us; not necessarily indicative of a typical day.
Great Experience
Went out ahead of a tournament. Never rushed or delayed. Greens are fantastic. Great day.
Bad Pace
Pace of play was very slow, had to wait on every single hole except first one. No cart person and it had gotten warm towards mid-day. It was Mother's Day so the 19 hole was closed for an event. No issues with that however they need a space or spot for cold beverages and maybe cold sandwiches, not just energy drinks. Even with the wetness the course played nicely. Need more sand in the bunkers.
Conditions are poor
Front nine was closed without any warning when I booked. Conditions were terrible and tee placement was worse. Pretty cool layout, but the other factors really ruined it for me.
Greens are perfect but..
Been coming 4-5 times a year, as of April 8, 2024 the condition of the green are fine, but fairways are in a very bad shape. Area around the green are unacceptable and hope to see this condition approved in a couple months.
Recommend for the area
I’ve never played this course before. I love it, it was $55 during the week. I did pick a bad time to play because they were scalping the fairways. Which was a little tough. The greens were good a bit bumpy and fuzzy. I did get the first tee time behind the members and the pace was slow. But they were scalping still and working on the fairways so I couldn’t go off the back nine. Practice green was nice and driving range was still on mats. Overall I’ll say I’m going back for sure. If you’ve never played there there’s some big hills (if you go to far it will be gone) and some blind tee shots.
