Canyon Lakes Golf Course & Brewery

I had a 1:20 tee time on a Sunday. Once the round began, we had no waiting at all, on a perfect day. The course is pretty challenging. There are some tight fairways that probably necessitate putting that driver away. The course is beautiful. It sits up high in the hills. It reminds of places in the Sierra Nevada foothills like Dark Horse. I honestly couldn't believe I was in San Ramon. One criticism though is that, while the greens are in good shape, the tee boxes and certain fairway areas are pretty beat up currently.

We couldn't drive the cart on the fairways because they were too wet, which is understandable, but if we had known that ahead of time, we would've just walked.

This course is really fun and definitely has its challenging holes and moments. It was a bit water logged but likely due to recent rain. That said some of the fairways and rough areas weren't well maintained (patchy). Given that I'd say the price was a little high. But maybe by 10 - 13 $.

Seems to all of us the owners have stopped putting money into improving course. So hold off playing. Unfortunately that leads to downward spiral. Yet we as players think it goes both ways. Put money into course and people will play and recommend. Course is going down hill. So sorry

Price was very decent. Course layout is very good with lots of challenging holes. Course conditions were less than satisfactory. Fairways had dried mud spots. Tee boxes were sometimes uneven. Greens needed to be cut. Bunkers I was in was not that bad. Overall this would be an excellent course but needs some tender loving care.

Pace of play was atrocious
