Maderas Golf Club

Played with my brother early August - both decent golfers (indexes 6-10) and have played many courses. Course was in excellent condition from tee to green. It's a Troon course and they generally have high standards. Lots of hills both up and down with fair but tight fairways and as a friend described to us wavy "Potato Chip" greens. Really liked the course, would be tough to walk - be warned. Only hole we didn't like is #8 which is a par 5 with a hidden tree literally in the middle of the fairway affecting your second shot. We weren't aware of the tree until after hitting what we thought were perfect drives we had no 2nd shot. Not sure how you would play the hole honestly. Beyond that the course is fun and a good challenge with some incredible views. Would like to play again if ever back. Maybe we can figure out #8 by then or they cut down the tree!

Great course, bit crowded and a really slow foursome in front of us. Once they le us play through it was great.

Hard course, excellent conditions and friendly staff!

Visiting San Diego I was worried it wasn’t on the ocean and wouldn’t be worth the drive up the hill. But was very satisfied as soon as I got to the bag drop I knew it was a good decision. Great course, Friendly staff, great food, drinks were great. Best part was after the round when we pulled up to the cart drop off, the cold towels were waiting for us and they topped off a great morning. Highly recommend this course.

In town for business and had a free day. Picked this course based on other reviews. I was actually late for my tee time, but the staff was very helpful in finding another opening for me. I really enjoyed the layout - lots of visuals and plenty of challenge. A little pricey maybe, but I’d certainly play there again if I get the chance.
