Maderas Golf Club

We are from the northeast, played it 3 days ago and decided to come back because we liked it so much. Very attentive staff, giving good advise on how to play the course. Good value with Golfnow. Would definitely play it again I we are in the area.

Beautiful course in incredible conditions. Had a lot of fun playing it for my first time.
Course is not too long but requires a good level of accuracy.
Fairways were in perfect conditions and green as well, even though I like faster greens.
I f I have to find a "negative" comment I would only say that the course misses some character, i..e., I do not remember many holes after having played it.

Great service from the card attendants to the pro shop. I also love all the high-end touch of iced, bottled water in their new, plush golf carts. The bermuda fairways were impeccable while the greens rolled well but had many subtle breaks.

There is some local knowledge required on a couple of semi-blind tee shots. GPS in the carts would be helpful to determine the distance to water and sand trouble in some of the driving areas, especially on the 18th hole drive where the water is closer than it looks. I would come back sooner if the green fees were a touch less. Overall, it was a fantastic course to play!

The course is in great shape and the greens undulate and role true. The course can be difficult if you dont stay straight off the tee box. From the time I drove up to the course I was greeted and treated to a first class experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Play was a little slow but that can happen when the fairways get a little tight. I visit San Diego each summer and will continue to make Maderas one of my golf stops.

Course was fantastic and staff were friendly and made you feel comfortable. We had a really nice time!

We played from the tips. It made the course challenging but playable. The golf carts are extremely comfortable but missing GPS which was surprising. This course must be played more than once as I found myself taking in the views. Kind of took the focus away from golf. The greens were slow and tough with the many breaks. With that being said, what a beautiful place to live and play golf.

Fun challenging golf course, well designed with plenty of elevation changes and wonderful views. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The course was in very good condition, especially considering the drought we are in. The course is an excellent value at the reduced Hot Deal rate that I got, but at full rate is pretty expensive.
Pace of play was excellent, 3:50 for round on a Tuesday afternoon.

Tough front 9 but an excellent overall experience. Course was in perfect condition and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back soon!

Excellent conditions. Challenging, yet playable for many to enjoy.

Tough golf course for anyone not experienced. Demanding tee shots, large tricky greens, lots of length. I played the blue tees at 6670 yards and shot 78 off a three hdcp. and felt I played quite well.
Greens had been punched two weeks ago so they were running about 9.0 and a bit bumpy.
If they cut them downto 11.0 - 12.0, add four strokes to my score.
Not a course for a novice but a test for an experienced golfer.

This is typical Johnny Miller design in that it really punishes every weak shot. If you're playing it for the first time I highly recommend a course guide since there are a lot of blind shots and a number of tee shots that require some knowledge of how far the fairway is.

This course never disappoints. Always great condition including the greens which are challenging but fair and 1st class. One of the finest facility's you will play. The only complaint is hole #6 which is a bit out of place with the rest of the facility. I also hope they go back to lemonade post round. It was the best I've had anywhere. And something you looked forward to.

Staff and facilities were great. Made us feel welcome and appreciated us coming to play at their facility. Would highly recommend scheduling this course if you are planning a trip to the San Diego area. You will not be disappointed. Get ready to be challenged.

Pretty much everything that's been said about this course so far is true. But, in addition, they've failed to mention that this facility might have the the best practice area you will ever see. So why is mine the only four star review surrounded by a bunch five star rave reviews. Well simply, it's because If you aren't on your game you might not have a lot of fun. Bring extra balls.

Wonderful course, difficult but engaging, wonderful views, excellent and friendly staff! I have played all over the world and a top 5 experience for sure!

Facilities, people, conditions were all great. I don't typically like to pay this much for a round since there are plenty of good courses at half the price but this was perfect for a special occasion. I highly recommend for a business meeting or to treat someone for a day.

This is one of the finest golf courses in California.
I live in Long Beach, CA and will drive 94 miles to play this course if I can get a deal on Golf Now because the rack rate is just to expensive for me. The course is always in impeccable condition and is a must play if you appreciate quality conditions and a challenging layout.

Totally Awesome ~ from the practice-range to the end of my game!
