Improvement
It is better than it has been the last few years but still in bad shape. Cart paths are hazardous and fairways are still too long and full of weeds. Greens are getting better but still bad. Irrigation system is in need of repair. Several spots on course are flooded due to leaks or busted sprinklers. Needs a lot of $ put into it and ownership doesn't have it.
Carts are old and falling apart and die midround. Clubhouse is dirty and old with nothing offered inside. They trying to resale people's lost clubs, old balls, and even used tees. No need to go in other than checking in.
Course going down
The course is not being kept up to par. A lot of the greens are being neglected and without grass. It used to be a prime course, now it's a practice course.
Love this course but almost unplayable
It’s hard for me to destroy this course considering I do love it and I played for 17 dollars but it’s as bad as I’ve ever seen it. I think 16 of the 18 greens were unputtable. All bunkers are overgrown and any sand is long gone, same for most of the cart paths. Fairways and rough are indistinguishable from each other on most holes. Who cares what the tee boxes look like at this point but they’re awful too. I want to leave a honest review and that’s the truth. With that being said it rivals any course around in its layout. There’s very few houses on it and obviously you can have it all to yourself most of the time. It can still be a fun course to play if you manage your expectations and the potential is obvious to anyone who does play it. No matter the condition of a course do your best to leave it better than you found it. Since there’s no denying my honesty now. I shot a 59 ;)
Horrible course
Worst course I have ever played, bunkers were grass, fairways were uncut, greens were moss and mud, horrible
Last minute booking
I love the layout of this course! The fairways hadn’t been cut and the greens were like plush carpet. Even downhill putts came to a halt quickly unless you clobbered the ball.
Potential
It too bad. It would be interesting to see this course at its heyday. Some interesting holes, but obviously has fallen on hard times. Someone might put some money I to this and retire it to what was probably an enjoyable track. All this being said it was power cheap so…
Beats waiting in line
Sure, the greens need a lot of work, but it’s cheap, it moves quick and it’s just close enough to South Charlotte to avoid waiting on long lines at CLT public courses.
Needs work
The fairways were not cut and the greens were non existent. The greens were mostly dirt not much green at all. Bunkers were all overgrown
Cheap rates for a reason
Older 2nd hand carts, but better than first time I played here, greens were horrible one was completely a mud circle with flag in it.,should close for a few months and let someone with greens experience try to fix them none of the 18 greens were good none, 18th was the best one out of all. Could be a nice place with rt greens keeper and financing to support him/her. Played here in the past and carts were junk then but green were not this bad. Good place to practice hitting fairways and getting over water hazards putting is a no . So bad not sure if you could take feed back chipping.
UNPLAYABLE DANGER TO PUBLIC SAFETY
This place deserves zero stars!!! The greens are like infields in baseball… there is no fairway it’s all rough and there is CONCRETE UNDERNEATH THE TEE BOXES. This place is a danger to public safety as it took our group of three FOUR DIFFERENT CARTS TO PLAY 11 HOLES. One cart didn’t make it halfway through hole ones “fairway” and we had to push it back towards the clubhouse, the next we had to steal from someone that just finished 18 to even play the first hole after waiting 25 minutes… the cart guy told me and I quote “I know yours’ll make it through nine at the turn come get a new one… THEN THAT CART HAD A BROKEN TIRE ROD AND THE PARKING BREAK WOULDN’T WORK. THAT IS SO DANGEROUS!
The operators and managers of this course and the state of South Carolina parks and recreation should be absolutely ashamed of themselves the fact that that charge people to play here is insane! This course needs to be taken off of golfnow due to the monstrosity that is the condition it’s in!
Pretty Good For Your $
The course was pretty nice. The greens could definitely be taken care of a little bit better and they also had lawnmower going majority of the time that we were teeing off but overall it was cheap. Only $36 for two players and we got a six pack of beer, two white claws, two hotdog crackers and a water for 26 bucks. They also have free ice for your cooler.
Not worth the drive
So I’ve played golf most of my life and never have I seen a course in this bad of shape and they still be open. The greens weee horrible. You never knew if it was gonna be yard grass actual grass or just dirt. No difference in fairway and rough. No sand traps as we called them grass traps. They just need to shut this place down.
Coming along
Greens were slow but are filling in pretty good. Fairways were pretty decent. Yeah the course needs some TLC. Didn't stop me or anyone I played with from having a great time. Watch the Bryan Bros video on the course from a couple of months ago. I think they agreed, you can't beat this place for the price. Bonus, on the day I played I was able to get the front nine done in about an hour and 20 minutes. Teamed up with some people on the back and was still done in a little over three hours.
