About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

Good Course for the money
Ok, I played Whispering Pines the day before so this was a bit of a come down from that, but I have to say I really enjoyed my time here. Played with 3 complete strangers from New York only two of whom knew each other. One was a caddy to our youngest player's Dad, and was kind of obnoxious but everyone else was nice. Anyway, the layout is very cool and somewhat challenging. Had to get used to water (creeks) running across the fairway that weren't marked well. If you don't know about these, good bye ball. The pace of play was very good, no real waiting, even though the parking lot was jamed with cars. They gave us free water at the turn which is cool. All in all a great time and golf now price was right. Hope to come back.

Good value
We liked it. Greens a little slow and a few blemishes but the staff was great, pace of play good, challenges good. We will play it again says a lot for us!

Good layout
Nice area, good layout. Fairways and greens had just been seeded but was still enjoyable.

Carts
Saturday - cart boys were just sitting around. Sunday, the middle age guy was ready. Disappointed that they were not sanitizing carts or wearing mask. Mask wearing is critical, having lost my mother.....I can’t stress it enough.
Brake did not work on my cart on Sunday, Fine on Saturday.

Some funky holes
Slow pace due to a clueless threesome in front who had no idea how to deal with cart path only day.
The course has some funky holes that have surprises stored for you. Hidden water hazards, fairways shorter than they appear etc. but good value for money.

Not a bad course
This course gets a lot of bad reviews. I am not sure why. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The course itself was in pretty good shape. I had no issues. I was paired with 2 nice guys we had a blast. I will be back.

Pretty good course
I had read lots of bad things about this course. I have to say it was a great experience. I was paired with 2 others they were great guys. I hit balls on the range which was fine. I also had lunch there the staff were very nice. My only critique would be that the greens were bumpy. I don’t understand how this course became the locals whipping boy. I will be back.

Cheapest course around and has potential
So you really do get what you pay for. Definitely the cheapest course to play in the area and the conditions match. Staff was very friendly and the pace of play was great. It really is a nice layout and could be top tier with enough investment and maintenance, but then it would no longer be the cheapest to play. It wasn't bad, I just probably won't play there again next time I am in town.

Very poor conditions
This course was in poor condition. I would advise anyone to pay more to play a good course. It wasn’t worth the hit deal.

Target course
First time playing. Greens were fast, but the practice green was very slow, so our group had a lot of 3 putts. Fairways were fine if you played "roll it" in the fairway. Rough was difficult in spots. Both fairways and rough could have been cut lower. The slow pace was caused by our group hitting too many poor shots on a non-forgiving layout. Overall the golf course rewarded good shots but punished any poor ones. So if you're looking for a real challenge, this is the one.
