Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

You will not find a better course to play for $35

It was a very windy day when I played Legends course at Tukwet with a buddy. There were not very many people there besides us but I thought the course was very nice. It is a challenging course with many blind shots but take advantage of the touch screen GPS in the golf cart. They are very helpful and high tech. If you drive to close to the green the golf cart knows and will cut your power until you drive away from the green. They do have some construction going on near by with heavy equipment kicking up dust and making noise but that can only ruin your day if you let it. You would be hard pressed to find a better course to play for $35 and if you know of any let me know!

Construction around golf course

The course was in decent condition the day we played, but new housing construction was on along some part of the course, causing a lot of dust and pollution.

Conditions improving

Both courses are looking good. Greens are in nice condition while the fairways are greening up. Looks like they have done some grooming on the bunkers. Lots of fun and a great challenge.

The bunkers need work

The bunkers were nothing but hard dirt and rocks. This was recently fixed at the Champions course, but it could have been because they were holding a tournament on that course. If they could take care of the bunkers I would rate it much higher

Always a great time playing the Legends

Made 18in 4 hours. The course conditions have improved over the past month. The greens are in good shape with limited ball marks etc . The fairways are greening up and bunker maintenance is improving. The beverage cart passed by four times. As usual the staff in the pro shop, cart barn and 1st tee were great. Great day at Morongo!

Surprisingly disappointing

Started at the driving range and was met with a line of dirt across the entire designated area. No grass to hit off of.

Started on time but the tee boxes were sketchy , uneven and full of used tees from many days of play.

Fairways were generally excellent with good winter grass conditions.

The greens were fast, beat up and ball divots were excessive on every green. Pin positions were punitive, and very bumpy.

Overall, I have played here several times, even though it is an hour drive from my home,. But like many courses around OC and SB lately, they are charging more because they are busy, but not putting any of that money back into maintenance with the additional rounds taking their toll on the courses.

Won’t return anytime soon at least until I hear they are improving the conditions and taking care of the greens.

Very nice layout

Legends Course was a very nice layout. Wide fairways nicely framed. Greens have large undulations but roll nicely.

Course

The fairways were cut way too short. Also, Most of the bunkers had dirt instead of sand in them. The course layout was nice but overall the price was a bit high. First time playing probably would not go back.
