Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
About
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

overwatering problems mud spots on the fairways and around the greens.
Legends Course
Alex at the cart barn was a really good guy and checked us in while giving us quality tips for the course. Great course to play! They just got done reseeding so the course is in good condition. The greens are rolling about a 8-11 depending on the hole. Overall, great course.
Course is in good shape
All was great. Sad Resturant was closed for after round dinner.
Same course, more money, worse conditions
This had been one of my favorite courses, but it has noticeably declined in terms of condition, amenities, staffing and pace of play. Despite 2 VERY slow 4-somes ahead of us, we never ever saw a marshal on the course, therefore we waited on EVERY shot! Course is muddy with too much ground water mixed with baked-out fairways and tee boxes. To be fair, greens were decent, but SLOW. Lastly, one used to be able to get green fee deals here, not now. Bottom line is the course in it's present form is not worth the money being charged.
A little lacking
Being that this is the course of a large Indian Casino I was expecting a higher quality experience. Especially after the level of service I had received at Fantasy Springs Casino, a major competitor of Morongo. I arrived and followed the signs to check in, which was in the cart charging station. Stood at the counter for a while being ignored by the gentleman working on something. Got checked in, told which cart to take and was not offered any other information. Such as where the driving range was or where the first tee box was loacated. went to warm up. Being a single I was not told what group I was joining for my tee time. So I teed off near my time. The course was very soggy. This must be a trend for courses near the desert as I had experienced the same conditions at the Links at Summerly in Lake Elsinore. The course otherwise was in pretty good condition. Some greens were still recovering from aeration but not all. Just wish the price was lower due to soggy conditions.
too tough for handicap above 10
I thought I was in the U.S. Open at Wingfoot!! Lost balls in the rough just off the fairway. Sand traps were dirt and some with puddles. Drove over an hour to play like that...not again!!
Great Golfing Experience
I play golf once a month between hidden valley, green river, shadding hills and sierra lakes golf courses and wanted to play at the morongo for quite sometime and for one reason or an other i could never make it to this golf course. This month i was able to make my reservation and for the first time i want to read feed back about the conditions of the golf course. I was surprice to see so much Negative feed back was written at this golf course. At onepoint almost wanted to cancel my reservation just reading thouse reviews. After i went and play i was so happy playing there i really like the lay out of the field, the way the greens are maintain, the staff that i had communication with was frendly the entire experience was very happy and i will retirn to and other round but next time will be with more players. Any way i can say that from the last few months i can see an improvement 5 stars to this experience playing here
Pace of play was horrible
The pace of play was horrible. The starter was letting everyone out 30 min before their tee times. This created a mess on the course at one point we had 8 carts waiting to tee off.
It was at least 20 minutes between shots and 30 to tee off between holes. Great course just not managed well by the starter.
Paul and Luce
Got paired with 2 great members they have great insight on where to hit and not hit the ball you definitely need that around this place the first time. Course really just need to tighten up the bunkers. The greens rolled very nice. I will definitely play again.
Legends
Course is cool definitely worth it. Don’t go with high expectations it’s like a normal muni feel with cool layout, greens run well, bunkers are unplayable fairways are def chewed up in some places. All in all very good course fun holes blind shots. They could definitely update the restrooms mosquito’s everywhere (that’s real and I was pooping while swatting) its was worse then some state rest stops.
Below average
Yet another course that looks better in the online images than in person. Good layout and distances from the tees. Fairways and rough were like cow pastures, greens full of divots, traps were just dirt. Overpriced at this current time.
