Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Early morning tee time is always good.

Booked my tee time at 6:20 last minute. Joined up with a single who is a member at the course. 3 some ahead let us play thru after 3 holes. Good layout. Greens are in good shape. I recommend this course. Good value in the area. Construction is around but should not bother the pace of play or playability.

B-Day Round of Golf

Fun to get out with friends for the B-Day. Morongo has been a good place to play. The Champions Course is way better in my opinion right now. We played the Legends which is surrounded by and is under construction. There was large tractors working all around and many holes have construction going on also. Id play the Champions course but wait on the Legends for a while.

Overpriced bad conditions

Tons of surrounding construction, grading for track homes surrounding the entire course. Rough was very high and Almost I Playable the fairways were jacked. Greens were spotty and not great. For the money it’s a bad course. Probably won’t be back. Cool views from the club house and cool practice greens though.

My stars would have been higher if not for the pace of play as a result of the staff allowing a fivesome ahead of a twosome. In addition, there is quite a bit of construction going on which has effected conditions. Greens and fairways were in very good shape.
