Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
About
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Course in great shape
Tee off @ 7am was done at 11. Greens in great shape so are most of the fairways! For $60 for early wknd tee time I’ll come here again and again.
Birthday day round
The course is fair but the other course “Champions” is better in my opinion. When we booked the tee time I was unaware of all the construction ON and Around the course. If I would of known we would of play elsewhere. Probably won’t be back to play this course until it’s not under construction.
Slow, slow, slow
I love this course, but a five hour round on a weekday afternoon is not acceptable. This is the second slow round for me at this course. I know times are tough, but surely the management can do something; if not, frustrated golfers will go elsewhere.
The course was in great shape
Course staff were able to sustain social distance and provide customers with needed liquids with having a drink cart running between holes. Restrooms were open and we had a very good outing
Average
First time playing Tukwet Legends course. I’m not impressed by the layout. Bunkers were in terrible condition as wild grasses and weeds were all over. I believe if management maintains and pays attention to details, this course is a must play.
Legend's .
The course was in great condition. Right now they are rotating from canyons of campions to legends every week so cond. are great! Driveing and practices greens are open
Pace of play and condition not worth the price...
I genuinely enjoy the layout and challenging nature of both courses. With that being said, I booked here last week and one of play was an issue AGAIN.
The staff neglected to mention that there was a tournament booked in front of us. And with covid being an issue, only one course is playable at the moment. It took over an hour to complete 3 holes. There was no Marshall, and when I called in to ask if they could send someone out to speed the group holding everyone up, I was told “No. We’re understaffed, and can’t help. Try talking to them.”
For $70 on a weekday afternoon, I expect A LOT more than having to wait and skip holes because the course doesn’t have a Marshall. I’m pretty disappointed with my experience and don’t think I’ll be playing here again.
Great track
Both the Legends and Champions fairways and greens are in very good condition. The bunkers need some grooming. The staff in the pro shop, cart barn and on the beer cart are all the greatest. Although the pace of play sometimes feels a little slow at the end of the round the pace is usually quite acceptable. It’s a really great club.
Stay far far away
Absolutely ridiculous, the course is not maintained whatsoever. The greens are horrific, fairways and tee boxes have grown out of control and will not comment on the disgusting sand traps. Service and personality is a zero rating. I played this course a long time ago and it was stunning. Such a great layout, the Morongo folks that bought this course should be ashamed of themselves.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY$
For the price $70.00 we expected much more. Construction everywhere, dust was so bad. The rough just 4 feet off the fairway was so horrible, long with sections of hard flat dead grass. The tee boxes, oh boy the tee boxes, not good. The greens are not kept up, same with the bunkers (full of weeds). We will not be playing this course again.
Hit’m straight
Large but firm greens. Stay on the short grass, roughs tall and thick. Extremely difficult finding your ball in the rough.
Good couse
A bit delayed due to one team but the course is good and well managed. Construction is done yet right beside the course, makes dust a bit.
Saturday disappointment
Disappointing round of golf mainly due to a foursome in front of us. I was told by staff they were tribal members that didn’t have a tee time but somehow they were able to cut in front of our foursome. They had a huge ice chest and at least a case of beer. They played from the blues and all four had to hit at least 2 balls on each hole. We played a 5 hour round of golf that if not for the foursome in front of us we would have easily finished under 4 hours. Also the construction around the course makes playing here a nightmare very disappointed.
Legend's
Course was in amazin condition pace of play was great on front 9 a little slow on back still finished in 4hrs.no course amenities yet! No driving range no chiping or putting greens yet there was a beverage cart.
Horrible
Do not hit your drives more than 5 yards off the fairway because you will not find your ball! Dead mowed grass is everywhere. Do not land in the sand traps because you will end up in a weed patch growing in the sand! Excavation noise everywhere! I hear it used to be a greatPGA course, but not anymore. Save your time and money and play elsewhere
