Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Construction going on

Most of the holes are great condition, due to construction a lot of the cart paths were hard to figure out where the next tee box was. Fairways and greens are very good.

Once was a club member in 2004 and have seen the changes since then. No changes in the greens and still roll pretty good and the layout is still the same other than major construction just rerouting to tee boxes. Fairways thin as well as tee boxes and practice area. Rough low cut and not a problem. Bunkers are well raked but loads of rocks (moveable). Used to be one of the finest practice facilities...Value is okay and have many fond memories of times past but no longer a course need to drive an hour to when there are nicer courses in the desert but are more expensive. Staff was pleasant. No longer on my bucket list of courses to go back to play regularly.

Tow great courses

Excellent facility. Really great staff, very friendly and helpful including the pro shop, cart barn and starter. Restaurant is great. The course was in good condition both greens and fairways. Tee boxes and bunkers are only fair.. lots of site development underway and construction throughout the Legends but nothing that affects the round.

Course needs some attention

I have been playing here for years and course needs some work. No sand in the traps and lots of little rocks. The greens run true but I spent half my time fixing ball marks and we were the 2nd group out. Greens hadn't been fixed in a while. Love the layout and challenges. Played the legends and they are doing lots of construction within the course and no one said anything about it. Use to be in much better shape,

Nice Challenging Course

We played the Legends course and thoroughly enjoyed our day at Tukwet. The course is in good condition as are the greens. There’s some construction going on around the course but it doesn’t impede play. There is a nice restaurant on site that serves a great breakfast or lunch. Their golf carts are nice and have GPS.

Poor conditions

I am very disappointed with this course. The tee offs are not even and damaged. Fairway was fine. The approaches were very narrow and the sand traps were numerous and in poor conditions. Greens are heavily damaged and bouncy. The poles are often at an angle and the ball bounced off the post instead of going in the hole. Cart is extremely annoying, with notifications and alarms at every turn, sometimes limiting the speed of the already very slow cart. Very noisy trains every half hour.

Needs a great deal of improvement

Overall condition of the course was below what it should be and the condition of the bunkers is dreadful!More of a gravel than sand and the cart we used was poorly charged and bucked when going up hills. The course Marshall was notified twice of this condition and said he notified the cart maintenance staff, but upon return of the cart the staff member said there was no indication of our problem from the course Marshall!Someone is lying and it is not appreciated!!

Will not return as the course is beat-up and was spongy on the fairways with too much standing water.

Just not worth the money no matter how low it goes!!

Best deal in the IE

I absolutely love this course (technically there's two courses at the same property). Because there's two tracks, it's rarely ever crowded and you can scoot around quite quickly, which is the only way I like to play golf.

I can usually play about 27 holes in around 2:30. Granted I play almost exclusively weekday afternoons.

The quality to price ratio is off the charts here; this course is so freaking fun to play. Tons of variety and a great mix of hard and easy holes. My favorite!

Fun & challenging

Had a great time on the course. The greens were challenging but fun. The only small negative was no ball washers on any hole.
