Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
About
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Got charged twice!
I got charged for two twosome at the same time, even though I told the gentleman behind the counter I only had 1 twosome .
Why is it do hard to get a hold of someone to reverse this or help me but yet so easy to get charged twice and take my money?
Always a friendly staff. Course is well maintained
First of the Season in Beaumont
Some signs of the water damage from Valentine's but didn't effect playability. First time on Legends ... Symetra Tour IOA Round 1 was happening on Champions....Good day all round.
Hot Deal
My friend and I got on this course with a Golf Now Hot Deal $25 we played the Legends side it was very nice, greens were tough to read and couldn’t judge the speed. Perfect Weather when we played but could see afternoon winds would make it tough, staff was very pre-occupied with Ladies IOA event and didn’t really give much attention to other guests. Nice course and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains
disappointed
We've played this course and the champions layout as well over the years. This is the worst I have seen it. Bunkers are as hard as rock, greens are overrun with poa annua, fairways were bumpy and spotty. Whoever digs the holes has no idea what they're doing as many were crooked and off center.
I saw hardly any workers out on the course except those who were trying to repair damage from the recent floods..I can only guess that they're too busy with that task to bother with routine maintenance.
Will not be back this year....hopefully when we return to S-Cal next year things will have improved.
Legends
Rode the Blues (6394/71.0/127) mid day with 24hourgolf using UP. 3H, 45M POP in overcast, breezy sometimes drizzling conditions in the 50's.
Schmidt/Curley design that has a good mixture of shorter. risk reward holes and longer holes. Overall this is a challenging layout that is a fun course to play. I slightly prefer Legends over the sister Champions layout. The large green complexes here are well designed with mounds, slopes and contours to challenge you whether you were on or off the greens.
The tees were mediocre. Most of the par 4/5 tees were okay and had good coverage. Most of the par 3 tees were not in good shape at all with large areas that had divots galore or were basically GUR where they were attempting to fix old divots.
The fairways were patchy, a mixture of thin/lush and there were alot of old divots.
The rough was mostly lush and thick. On the occasions when the ball settled down, it was whack a short iron out and get it back in play time.
The sand traps looked well manicured. However, the sand depth and quality was usually substandard. Most were more hard packed and had some rocks in them. That makes large, green side bunkers playing to firm quick greens almost impossible.
The poa annua greens did not look good at all, but putted much better than they looked. Firm and started out medium fast but had slowed to medium speed because of the drizzle later in the round. Too many ball marks to be considered good, even nice high irons rolled out.
This would be a very challenging course to walk, numerous tees were a hike from the last green. Not an overly tight layout, but you cannot miss most fairways here by much without bringing penalty strokes (lost ball bushes & native overgrowth) into play. The carts have nice GPS. The customer service was excellent from everyone, but no drink cart today. All grass range. Recommended if you get a deal, nice layout but currently in mediocre playing condition.
Windy day
Windy day of golf but as always i enjoy playing Tukwet Canyon course plays more challenging during windy days, love to play here come what may...make adjustments accordingly..
Bunkers
Like the Course, however the Bunkers :Really Suck" as they all have an assortment of Pebbles in them that can wreck both your shot and your Clubs. This should be fixed in short order.
Always a fun course, although it seems like conditions are slowly deteriorating...
Poorly managed.
Course was rough, grass was patchy. The tee boxes were all chewed up. The greens were okay so no complaints there. No one to welcome you, very disorganized. I would not recommend this course to anyone.
course condition
Greens in good shape and very fast fairways need a little attention, a lot of dry areas. Wind was awful and had to use 3 club extra when into the wind.
Great course
I love this course. Can get pretty windy but is a beautiful place with beautiful views.
This course really needs to get the marshals more involved. The rate of play is abysmal. I've been playing this course for years and nothing changes
