Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
About
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Fun & challenging
Had a great time on the course. The greens were challenging but fun. The only small negative was no ball washers on any hole.
Unforgiving staff
Me and my buddies played today. Food was great! My buddies and I came on our 3rd annual golf trip and we are from northern CA! We travel 8 hours to play golf this was our 4th and final round here! Other than the sand traps and wind the course was great! Unfortunately 1 of our buddies pressed the wrong button on under par which was a whopping $5 glitch he was not entitled to a free replay. When we explained the mistake to the guy at the pro shop he was not willing to give our buddy a break and was going to hold him to the $27 replay fee! Great job now you lost 3-4 players annually all behind $5. I’m sure that the course could care less about 3-4 players once a year but that was our experience, BUT the breakfast was great and btw we said the heck with a replay so thumbs up to the kitchen but thumbs down to to guy who we checked in with at the pro shop
BIKINI WAXED GREENS
Fast, true, hard to read and putt, these greens are the biggest challenge for the course. Many are elevated and heavily guarded with traps, several can't be seen from the fairway unless you hit it 300 yards past the dogleg.
HEY course operators, how about a ball washer or two on the course. NONE to be seen and not one on the cart either.
Fairway traps are dirt and rocks, greenside not much better. New sand in traps, ball washers, and this course would be top rated.
Starter was very fun and informative.
course conditions
greens in great shape however wind was so bad it blew the balls off the greens quite often
Slow today!
My wife and I played this course today because our home course is being overseeded. Supposed to play with two other people, but they wanted to play alone so they teed off first. One guy was lying 5 and only 50 yards from the tee box, so we skipped hole #1 and started on #2 behind a foursome who were pretty fast but still it was a 5 hour round. Lots of wet areas on the course. The greens were very fast. For what we paid...$25 each, it was a good deal.
Excellent golf course. Well maintained and great for the price
Slow play because of late running tournament
Course was in fair condition and tee time was on time. It would have been better to advise those teeing off after the tournament that play was running slower than usual.
Nice course, great value
It was over 100 so the last few holes were "toasty"
This is a really challenging course with lots of elevation changes, and interesting hole layouts. Ledgands winds thru the hills and dales, and the snack shack at #9 was closed although they had a beer cart going around this time.
The only negative is that the sand traps are very inconsistent, some hard as concrete some soft.
Fun course I'd recommend to anyone.
Morongo Golf Club at Slow Play Canyon
If you enjoy standing behind groups of hacking 2sums waiting for long periods of time to tee off on each hole, this is your place. Don't plan on getting home for dinner. Shame considering the course was in pretty good shape and is an otherwise fun play.
Great day
We arrived and were greeted by friendly staff, there was plenty of staff to help us every step of the way even a Marshal on the course to keep play at a good pace .
The course was in really good condition as it usually is .
Thank you staff at Tukwet Canyon
