Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

course is quite beat up and a lot of bare spots and weeds on greens. However could not beat the price. Greens are fast and severely sloped

Pins not set for Windy conditions.

as always love playing the usually more playable Legions side. Today real strong winds and 4 of the holes were on very step slops which lead to balls even putted past hole rolled back down well past first putt location. . so you had several players spending way to much time on greens and slowing down play. Even the best player in our group became a little upset with pin locations and this guy could really play (even in the high winds with several 4 putt greens he shot 75).

Disappointed.

Really disappointing when you drive 30 minutes to get to your 7:30 tee time and when you check in they tell you there is a frost delay and your tee time is delayed 3 hours. I'm not going to wait 3 hours to tee off. A phone call, text, e-mail or any kind of heads up would have been appreciated. Would have saved me an hour of drive time and fuel.

Just average

Pace was unbelievably slow- 5 1/2 hours. Didn’t seem like the Marshall was doing much to push anyone along either.

Greens were in pretty good condition although they were very soft and had a bunch of pitch marks- come on people, fix your divots

Some of the tee boxes were in poor condition

Fairways were average for this time of year

Maybe try Champions course?

Great deal

EXCELLENT bang for your dollar. Fun, very challenging course layout, could have had better signage between holes. Where did ALL of the ball washers go?

Another good round

Played early again onSunday. It was a little slow for how many people were on the course, but not terrible.

They're finally draining the bunkers so they're not water hazards, but now they look like lakes that have been drained with mud, not sand in them. Other than that, the greens were great, fairways, and rough, are in good condition.

Replay

Its very disappointing when you go and try to do the replay special and they tell you have to wait 1:30 to go out again. We sat in the bar for 15 minutes and watched no one yes "no-one" go off of number one. so, when they promote the replay special I guess they really don't want you to get the replay special.

Try Champions instead.

They shut down both sides for maintenance this year. But I'd be at a loss to tell you what they did on the Legends. The greens were bumpy and slow. The tee boxes were hideous. Hideous! EVERY lie is a tight lie when more than half of your grass is dormant. It was very windy today but I think the course conditions were more of a factor for this 5 handicap shooting a 92. The twosome that I was with said they played Champions on Friday and the greens were much better. The rest of the course is similar. So if you're coming to Morongo to play Tukwet then maybe you should choose Champions. You may want to choose elsewhere though until the Morongo Tribe decides to bring these normally outstanding tracks back up to snuff.

Winter Conditions

Have played Legends and Champion courses several times each. Both courses are challenging but fair. Scoring opportunities are very accessible if you keep the ball in play. Winter conditions are current but both excellent courses.

Great course

Really enjoyed our time. I’m new to the area and this has been the best round I have had in CA. The staff were friendly and helpful. Course was in great condition, the only negative was the green had been recently sanded. The layout is fun and challenging at the same time. Can’t wait to play again.

The course greens just punched

I enjoy playing the course, but usually have to contend with wind. The greens were recently punched and made putting irregular. I wish I would have been informed prior to playing. Between the wind and the greens it made for a tough day.
