It’s a pretty nice layout

The greens were in very poor condition. It’s going to be a long time to fix them. Maybe a year or more at least.

It's a Shame

Glen Ivy has been one of our favorite course over the years, but the condition that it is in today, it is not worth the discounted price that we paid. We were told that the course was under repair and the 7 hole had a temporary green. Every hole should have had a temporary green as they were really bad. I have never seen any course with fairways and greens in this bad of shape. Again sorry to say, because in past years we have enjoyed playing here, but it is a Shame on how the course remains open, in the condition that it is in.

Greens in terrible shape

I never wrote reviews for anything but the greens were literally unplayable. I hope they’ll get this course back into good shape, but if you’re looking to get a tee time. Don’t book here until they get the course in playable shape.

Embarrassing

Wow This golf course has gone down hill, So sad this course has real potential So sad to see the course in this horrible shape, price should be free to 20$ at most. Greens look like a uncompleted puzzle.

Horrible Condition

I’ve played numerous golf courses in Southern California (almost all of them) but these were the worst conditions I’ve EVER played in all my 30 years of golfing. I should’ve known when the early tee time was available and the price was lower then other courses but did the Pro Shop mention anything?….NOPE!!!! I want my money back, please!!!

Bad shape

We were told be the guy in the pro shop told us the course was in bad shape and he wasn’t wrong. The greens were in awful condition, looked like a jigsaw puzzle.

Fairways were just as bad.

Course conditions

This course was once a beautiful well manicured course to play. It Has turned into a garbage pit. The course is one of the worst condition courses I’ve ever seen. The greens are similar to putting on a minefield. There are nothing but dirt patches and patches of turf all over the place and you can I get a true roll on any putt.

It truly is an embarrassment to call this a golf course it’s nothing more than some grass with nothing but dirt and patches all over it.

I thought the links at Victoria was awful however this is a close second.

I would not play this course again until the ownership does something about the course conditions it is truly rages that they would charge money to play this rat nest .

Good but could be the best

I’ve only played here a few times. The first time back in May but I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about the greens. At that time maybe only a handful of the greens were bumpy but definitely playable. Just played yesterday & man.. what a difference 2 months makes. The majority of the greens really are THAT bad. Never played a course with greens like that but the scenery is awesome. Fairways aren’t bad at all. Bunkers are great. Hopefully the management can get it together.

THIS COURSE HAS TERRIBLE GREENS...JUST HORRENDOUS

COURSE CONDITIONS -

---Greens - 17 of the 18 greens are in very poor condition...unputtable. Only the 17th hole had a green in satisfactory condition. Otherwise, the other 17 greens are in terrible condition and can best be described as a patchwork quilt of sickly uneven patches of sod and green-painted dirt. The 7th hole "green" was painted on the fairway like a crime scene. The positive thing I can say is about the 7th "green" is that that the fairway grass had less patches of dirt than most of the greens.

---Fairways - the fairways were brown. It appears that they're trying to improve the fairways but at this time there are a lot of dirt areas roped off as "Ground Under Repair." There were so many areas roped off like on the 7th hole, that you might as well play this hole "Cart Path Only."

---Tees - White tees are located at same location with the Gold forward tees at several holes.

PACE OF PLAY - was excellent because there were not a lot of golfers on the course. At 11am tee time, our twosome seemed to be the only people on the course. I wonder if the horrendous course conditions had anything to do with this.

STAFF FRIENDLINESS - maintenance crews working on the greens don't appear to have been trained to deal with golfers. On the 3rd hole, two guys were working on the greens while keeping their backs to the approaching golfers. One guy appeared to drop by just to chat with them. These 3 guys were very slow to move their vehicles from in front of the greens. To top it off, they didn't bother to remove 2 buckets from the putting surface. Since they left their buckets on the green, we were forced to play with buckets on the green, which really made it difficult to approach the pin.

Extremely disappointed!

I've played this Glen ivy course at least 35 times. I always like this track and was excited to play it after not playing there for several months. All I can say is "why the heck are they even opened"??? For starters my morning tee time was a full 30 minutes delayed on the 1st tee! There was no advisory when I booked the round, paid $79 to play on a Sunday and the course could not have been in worse shape. The fairways were completely damaged on nearly every fairway and greens were damaged beyond playability (fungus, sod, sand, patches)! The greens were literally the worst I've ever seen in playing for over 15 years. There's no way these guys should even be open, nobody should be subjected to playing in those conditions, At minimum charge $30-$35 and put an advisory on the website so people aren't blindsided when they arrive to play in these conditions. I'd strongly advise against booking there until their course is back-to-back to core reasonable" playing conditions, looks like that's at least several months away. Shame on these guys for misleading customers!

Layout great. Condition bad

The course layout and the staff at Trilogy are awesome but the course is in terrible shape right now. There are basically potholes in every green, it's un puttable. And the fairways are burnt out and brown. On the plus side the rough is lush and the bunkers have fresh fluffy sand. So if you don't mind teeing of into the rough then playing for the sand and giving yourself a par of you hit the green you'll have a great time! They are trying to repair the greens so at least they are aware of it, but it's gonna take some time. I was gonna ask for a refund but didn't wanna be "That guy". But it's definitely not worth the money right now. I'll check back in the fall.

Condition is terrible.

The layout is great. They are in the middle of changing the fairways from rye to Bermuda grass but you don’t see any re-sodded areas just bare spots. The greens are unplayable. There are bare spots, holes and so many patches.

You must be kidding

This course should be completely shut down until the greens can be fixed. The fact that they are charging $60-$80 to play is completely out of line. It is clear management has no regard for it customers when they don’t even mention the conditions of the course. I will never return to play at Glen Ivy again (I occasionally played there for the past several years). Glen Ivy - you must be kidding!!

Very Bad Course Condition

The course is in such bad condition I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It is sad how bad the course has gotten. You could only putt on one green. The rest were more sand and dirt than grass. The fairways were as bad. It is very overpriced for the conditions.
