Tierra Rejada Golf Club

Had the best round I've had in a while even though my game was not up to par. Was able to get out on a weekend morning and the course was fairly wide open. There were enough challenging shoots off the tee to excite and the greens were immaculate. If you're fond of lots of elevation changes this is the course. Can't wait to go play again!

Played on Tuesday afternoon. course was in good shape and not to many golfers. Was able to finish all 18 right At dusk. Good challenging course from the blues

TO MANY blind tee and second shots,TO MUCH guessing . greens unfair. good holes on flat areas. hills not so good. pace of play slow but staff tried to fix it.The staff was GREAT

Checked it out was worth the price.... stay in the fairway and enjoy

The front nine of Tierra Rejada is very unique with several elevated tee boxes that require precise tee shots. The views from the top of the course are spectacular. The back nine is more traditional with a funky little par 3, but overall it was a good experience.

The operation in the pro shop and the grill needs an adult to manage it. The staff does not understand the basics of customer service. Eat before you go.

I was in the Venture county area for work and decided to play a round of golf on my way back to San Diego, so this was the first time I've been to this course. The marine layer was thick at the coast so I assumed I would be okay inland. Got to the course at 7:30 am for an 8:08 tee time. The marine layer was thick.... the staff said they don't delay tee times for the marine layer. I decided to tee off 15 minutes early as a single. Between the staff's advice, the carts GPS, and the map and advice on the score card, I did alright! The 1st, 3rd, and 5th hole I couldn't see past 100 yards. I played conservative and it worked out! I said all that to say some of the course conditions I can't say for sure. The tee boxes were in great shape. Quite a few holes are very narrow so you had to be accurate. I was in several sand traps and most were in good shape. Fairways & greens were in great shape and the greens were fast. When the marine layer finally lifted, about 8:50 the course is very pretty! As a single two groups let me play through so I played in 3 1/2 hours. I would definitely play again!!!

I have played Tierra Rejada approximately 10 times. The positives are that they have a nice grass range, a number of different tees to play from and the greens are above average. My negatives are that the pace of play can get slow at times. I played recently on a Monday, joined a twosome and within a few holes caught a foursome that were struggling yet playing challenging tees. At the end, the group was probably 3 holes behind. Course can get windy. Course has many holes where if you are off fairway, your ball is in rattlesnake country so you need to hit your targets to score well. Certainly, this is one of the better courses in Ventura County excluding private courses. Pro shop staff don't seem too thrilled to welcome guests but cart persons have been very nice.

Great course. Loved the layout. Built on the side of a hill. Lots of elevation changes. Elevated tee boxes, uphill approaches to the greens, nicely bunkered. In pretty good shape for the middle of summer in a drought.

Would definitely play again.

Water the course PLEASE!. Just horrid conditions of play. My first and my last time playing this poorly maintained course. No water and still high dollars make this the worst value in the area. My advise is to go across the street and just hit ball at Tom Barber driving range. This one is not worth the time you will spend or the money. If I had to play this course only, I would stop playing golf completely. Just awful!

Course was in good shape, but the Pro Shop guy (Chris) that checked me in was unfriendly to the point of being rude and he's been that way each time I've played there when he was working.

This is neat course with lots of elevation changes shooting into the greens. It also has a hole dedicated to Reagan and can see the Reagan library form the 11 hole par 3. Would love to play this course again and would recommend it to other golfers. This is not a walking course

I had a great time playing this course, the front 9 is very challenging, and I lost a few balls, but lots of fun

the front 9 has spectacular views and lots of cool breezes. I enjoyed seeing the wildlife, california condor, and red tail hawks, and a few bunnies and lizards. I thought the greens were in great shape, and played well.

Yesterday was my 2nd time playing (TR). This is a very nice course that demands shot-making and course management. A most almost perfect blend of golf for the avid golfer.

However, my experience yesterday was marred by two things: The front desk person’s overall poor bedside manner and general discourtesy; and, the most painful slow play and, at times, hazard play by some of the players behind us. Constant hitting balls close upon the group in front, is always dangerous.

The course Management would be wise to keep better “eyes” on the course happenings and do a better job managing pace-of-play. Many players from what I experienced yesterday should not be on any full-length golf course. These two experiences greatly blemish the current positive reputation of this course; which should be guarded and fostered to remain so.

From one coming from the LA area, yesterday’s experience gently reminds me that there are alternatives; on equally more than adequate venues; where management does not allow the above to take place.

But, again, overall this is at the moment a nice place to play.

This is one of my favorite courses for its entertaining variety of hole layouts.

The pace of play was excellent - all foursomes on the course at the time I have played (12:32 start).

Loved playing here for the first time. Great test and fantastic lay out and great value at $30. We got around in 2 hrs 50 mins as a two ball!

Greens werent as good as they could have been due to punching a couple of weeks ago, but still were playable.

Shot 71 for my first visit so cant wait to come back again. Its going to become a regular spot.

Jusy one issue is that you cant book as a single, they say just walk up and they will get you off! Not my fave way of doing things. If the course is empty and you call up, they SHOULD be able to confirm a time! I dont want to turn up and get stuck behind three 4 balls just teeing off.

I've played this course many times over the years. The course itself is fine. It's definitely a challenging layout with lots of changes in elevation. Definitely not a high handicapper course.

My main issue is the consistently inexcusable treatment you get from Chris in the pro shop. The guy is always short and makes you feel like a second class citizen. I had a guest from out of town and he was shocked at how rude Chris was to us. We were nothing but courteous and deserved nothing less than a friendly reception.

WAKE UP TIERRA REJADA MANAGEMENT! Listen to the consistently bad feedback about this guy!

Very difficult for beginners, which didn't stop the twosome in front of us from trying to teach the wife how to play. Marshall tried, but couldn't move them along. 3 holes behind at end.

Otherwise, great!
