Angeles National Golf Club

About
Angeles National Golf Club is the only Nicklaus Design course in Los Angeles County. It is tucked away in the Angeles National Forest. This championship course is known for being one of the area's most challenging with tough greens that are lightning fast and more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are also two lakes and a creek that come into play. Golfers should be prepared for long par 4s and demanding carries over ravines and barrancas. Not only is it a golf course that requires length, you'll also need accuracy. Angeles National Golf Club finishes with a par 4 that plays from an elevated tee alongside the rushing creek that edges the left of the fairway and to the right of the landing area there's a deep bunker. To the right, the green is bordered by deep grass hollows and bunkers and there is a lake to the left.

Good course
Condition is still good even if it was flood damaged in last weeks. Fairway, bunkers and greens are in good shape. It was more challenging by some blue tees moved to black tee.
Great Course Layout, in the nature!
Great Course Layout, in the nature!
Pace of play usually good in the morning, I plaid 2 rounds in 6 hours, starting early mirning.
A pitty, the club house is still closed on weekdays.
Also the kiosk and the driving range clised at 4pm
But if you concentrate on golf, it is the place to go.
6 hours on a Monday
6 hours for an expensive tee time on a Monday?!?
Should be refunded.
Great course!
Great course!!
pace of play good in the morning, played alone, only 3 hrs for 18 holes!
pitty, the clubhouse is cloused during weekdays, kiosk and and driving range closes at 4pm
but always enjoy playing here!
will be back next visit in LA
Good condition but no starter or marshal so pace was 5:45 for the round.
I wish I could give this 0 stars for Value for the Money
To start, I took clients here thinking that for $187 per person, we would be getting a premium experience across the board. I recently played Desert Willows in Palm Desert where I paid less than this, so my expectation was something remotely close. Absolutely not. First and foremost, the clubhouse was not even open, and had it been, it looks to be as dated and out of shape as the course was. They had no starter, so our 10:24 tee time was backed up in 3 groups on a Sunday. No one moving groups along on the course. No cart person for drinks when it was almost 80 degrees out. Fairways were in terrible shape and the rough was mostly dead grass. I guess the highlight were the greens which were pretty hard, but inconsistent. Even the carts were falling apart. This course should be embarrassed to charge $187. This is 50-60 at best.
Pace pace pace….
I love this course but the marshall really needs to step up. I ended up skipping 2 foursomes to get back to a normal pace of play. Painful and something that happens often.
10/10!
First time playing Angeles national golf course. We’ve been trying to book this place for a few weeks now but the winds and the fires have stopped us from making our way up there. Decided to jump the gun and head out here and it was an absolutely perfect day!
The course conditions were immaculate, haven’t played on great course conditions like this in a while.
The greens were super fast, made for some tough putts but other than that it was great!
Only thing I did see that I would suggest is a stater. We were told to start on the back 9, no issue, but I did notice a few singles jumping on before/after us. And some riding thru to other holes. Not sure if that’s normal here but other than that it was perfect!
Thank you Angeles, we’ll be back! Winds won’t stop us
Marshall where are you???
For a course of this caliber and price, they need to have a marshall move slow players along and keep the pace. Absolutely insanely slow to the point that I left the course at the 14th.
The place is beautifully located between hills - wonderful! The quality of the place is terrible - rock hard, you can't talk about lawn. We had to start almost 30 minutes late and needed 3 hours for 9 holes and that for almost $150! We then broke off! The desire to play goes away - never again!!!
A good place play every once in a while
The cost makes it prohibitive to play all the time, but good to play once in a while. Good layout, very difficult to chip and putt given the speed of the greens and the subtle undulations.
Solid even for winter conditions
Honestly I come here probably once a month. Never disappointed. Greens rolled really good considering winter conditions. I’ll be back soon.
not bad
This is the third round played in this nice course. It would be very valued for the money only if I got the best deal rate from Teeoff.com.
Course well kept
Course is well kept. Greens are fast. It’s pretty pricey but course if in prestine conditions
