Angeles National Golf Club
About
Angeles National Golf Club is the only Nicklaus Design course in Los Angeles County. It is tucked away in the Angeles National Forest. This championship course is known for being one of the area's most challenging with tough greens that are lightning fast and more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are also two lakes and a creek that come into play. Golfers should be prepared for long par 4s and demanding carries over ravines and barrancas. Not only is it a golf course that requires length, you'll also need accuracy. Angeles National Golf Club finishes with a par 4 that plays from an elevated tee alongside the rushing creek that edges the left of the fairway and to the right of the landing area there's a deep bunker. To the right, the green is bordered by deep grass hollows and bunkers and there is a lake to the left.

No assistance in the heat
Hello, I played Angeles on 9/5/20, a day with temps that exceeded 116 degrees. The overwhelming heat made the experience unpleasant. And it was made worse by the fact that no one from the course came out during the round with water. We called while on the 15th tee box, telling them that no one has come around and that we were struggling. The person who answered said ok, we'll send someone out but never did. It felt irresponsible and dangerous to not be taking care of the players in such conditions.
cceder, we want to hear more about your experience with us! Please call us at (818) 951-8771. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Find another place
I would avoid going to Angeles National at all cost. We had originally tried to get 12 people together for a golf outing and Angeles sounded like a good central place. I tried to call and no one is answering the phones due to Covid (understandable). Then we booked on-line at GolfNow and pre-paid for all 12. We got to the golf course and noticed one person working and guiding people to the carts (he was very nice). The golf course greens were in good shape, the fairways were unfortunately dying but mowed. Bunkers were concrete or too much sand and no rakes (understandable with Covid). It was however a very hot day and no water on the golf course to quench our thirst. The club snack shop was also closed and we actually had someone from our group leave to go down the street to a store to purchase water and gatorades. I can't believe they don't have the snack shop open, drinking fountains, or waters available.
We unfortunately had a couple guys not be able to make it and I've been reaching out since the day we golfed (both phone and email) and not a single response. I've given them 5 opportunities to reach out to me with vouchers or a refund as they are unresponsive. For $133 to play this golf course on a weekday it is way too expensive for the level of service and quality that was received.
I and my friends will not be playing this golf course again and I really wished the management company would have replied back to my emails and voicemails to avoid all this.
Very unfortunate as this was my first time playing and was extremely disappointed.
We're glad you enjoyed your 5-star experience with us, u000003035301. Please comment or reach out to our team in the golf shop to let us know more about your round!
Overpriced and underdelivered
Used covid as an excuse
Practice greens closed
Green fees high.
No pro shop
Food closed early
No on course amenities
No water
Cart GPS is like a helicopter mom
If you can get for around 60 bucks it’s worth it. Not much more.

Good track but bad service
Have played Angeles National several times over past decade of living in Los Angeles and have always liked the layout.
The main problem with this course is that they are charging premium rates and providing less than muni service. I teed off on Sunday afternoon at 1:34 and the temperature was going to be 100 degrees plus that day. When we checked in there was 1 bottle of water in the cart and that was it for the entire round. They closed the only food and beverage option (snack shack) at 3pm! Meaning by the time we made the turn there was no chance to even purchase more water (there was none on the course because of COVID regulations) or food on a dangerously hot day. I always try to respect the no outside food or beverage but if you play here bring everything you need prior. If a course is charging full rates they should have all the amenities possible still open for the normal 4:30 playing time (this was not COVID related they just closed up shop at 3). Otherwise the course should be charging twilight rates.
The course was in good condition but still a tough sell at $150 a round during the hottest months of the year out in a very hot location.
Would play again but only at discounted rates.

GreatRoundofGolf
Took a client out and we had a great round of golf with not the typical crowds of LA. Course was in fantastic condition too.

One of my favorites
I love Angeles National and play there at least twice a month. It is convenient to my home about 15 minutes away. It is challenging for me (I am a 16) and there are times I can shoot mid-80s or close to 100. There are some easy holes but many difficult ones. It is a sort of desert course so balls can bounce a lot. Greens are usually pretty fast. The rough is not that bad but there are a lot of tricky holes that demand course management. All in all a real good course

Great Day at ANGC
It had been 2 years since I last played Angeles National and it's as fun as I remembered it to be. The course was in great shape esp given how dry and hot LA summers are. There's little tree cover on the course but my friends and I lucked out as it was 85* (felt like 90*). The greens were smooth but a tad slower than I remembered them to be. Wish the course was closer to home. The starter was organized, helpful and making sure people were teeing off on time and playing at pace. 25 mins to LA proper, so if you're in the LA area, a great course to add to your rotation.

Enjoyed our round!
We play this course a few times a year and were not disappointed. Greens were a bit slow but overall it was a fun course to play. Course is in good shape. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They are doing their best to keep everyone safe. Golf shop is closed; check in is outside. Really enjoyed our round. Would recommend.!
To Management
Hitting off the fairways is often like hitting off asphalt.. The ground needs to be softened. Many of the bunkers are awful, more like hitting out of dirt than sand. It would be nice if the golf cart GPS indicated how far the tee shots went (even the golf carts on the LA Municipal courses have this feature,) The Agave restaurant needs to be open much more. Even before COVID, the Agave bar was closed too often. Given the green fees, Agave should be open as long as the course is open.

Very nice pace of play
We actually booked two threesomes but played as a sixsome. Moved along well. Played ready golf. Never were pushed from a twosome behind. Played 18 hokes in under 4 hours. Great day. Nice course

You chose to play on a day where the heat was triple digits. You shouldn’t knock the course when you didn’t prepare well enough.
They have always been friendly. They even have a place to buy water at the turn.
