There are three 18-hole courses available at Jekyll Island Golf Club, making it the largest public golf facility in Georgia. The Oleander Course is the club's original layout and still remains the most difficult. It is the local favorite of the three courses as well. Don't be fooled by its seemingly modest yardage, there are plenty of challenges in store. The course features tight-, tree-lined fairways and an abundance of water in play throughout. The layout doesn't seem too tough from the fairways but you'll find keeping your ball in the short grass to be no easy feat and the ability to shape shots will definitely come in handy. The Oleander's 12th hole is the longest and one of the trickiest. This par 4 is completely exposed to blustery winds coming off the ocean and there is also quite a bit of water with which to contend.

Was sad
I have been going to Jekyll Island since I was 10. I love it! My favorite place. I have played all 3 courses lots of time and this was the worst shape I have ever seen this golf course in. They have had a really wet winter and it’s just a mud hole. Lots of wild grass on the greens was just sad. I’ll always love going to Jekyll but the golf was really a disappointment.
Coarse condition
It is a nice layout. Coarse was cart path only and quite frankly should have been closed for play. It was beyond wet. Because of so much rain it couldn’t even be mowed. At $70 a round it was beyond disappointing!
Friendly clubhouse
This place has 3 golf courses you can choose from. We originally were supposed to play Oleander but after trying the first hole, it was just way too wet. Ground was just too soft. Gentleman by the name Al I think worked it out where we could play on another course (Pine Lakes). Oleander should have been closed. I think Al recognized that and he helped us get in a round in a drier course. The other worker working with Al wasn’t going to help us but Al stepped in and make it work. You should hire more staff like Al.
Oleander Needs Better Maintenance
Most of the fairways didn’t have water on them but were very damp with a sparse amount of grass.
Course in horrible shape
The fairways were a mess and muddy. Green were full of divots;....is there a new rule about not having to fix divots during Covid-19??????? No rakes for traps. Was very displeased with the shape this course is in!
First time on Jekyll Island
Tee boxes were in terrible shape. Cart attempted to shut down and tell me I was not on the cart path when on it the whole time. Guess I expected more from a resort island course. When you pay 56 dollars a person to play golf, 8 dollars to get on the island and are told it is the most challenging course I guess I just expected more.
This course was plain muddy.
The course was very nice but soaked. I wouldn't have played had i known this beforehand.
Take the good with the bad
The course is in decent shape. The greens are ugly in spots, but they roll well and hold shots well. The carts are very nice with great yardage and scoring technology. Tee boxes are not in very good condition. Regardless, there is a lot to like about the setting of Jekyll Island and the staff is very nice and helpful.
Jekyll Oleander
Great course for the money! But they could sure use a ranger or two! Got behind a foursome and they would not let us through! Pace of play was terrible! But course was good! Loved the layout!
7/9/20 Review
Tough course - tight fairways, very thick rough. Love the design of the course. A few greens had some damage, but overall did not cause any problems. There are multiple courses at this facility - hope to play the others soon.
Run by idiots,,,,so what would you expect
No carts after noon!!. When asked why, the troll in the pro shop said....and I quote,,,,,"it's our policy".
So I guess these jerks feel that elderly golfers like my father should walk the course in 90 degree weather or come early and play on a packed course. What a bunch of bs.
By the way....their website is a lie....there is no longer 63 holes since some genius made the Dunes course the Oleander back nine and closed the original back nine........idiots.
A fine golf complex ruined by stupid state employees.
