There are three 18-hole courses available at Jekyll Island Golf Club, making it the largest public golf facility in Georgia. The Oleander Course is the club's original layout and still remains the most difficult. It is the local favorite of the three courses as well. Don't be fooled by its seemingly modest yardage, there are plenty of challenges in store. The course features tight-, tree-lined fairways and an abundance of water in play throughout. The layout doesn't seem too tough from the fairways but you'll find keeping your ball in the short grass to be no easy feat and the ability to shape shots will definitely come in handy. The Oleander's 12th hole is the longest and one of the trickiest. This par 4 is completely exposed to blustery winds coming off the ocean and there is also quite a bit of water with which to contend.

Oleander/Jekyll Island
Been a few years since we played this course, and got it for a good rate. Course was pretty wet and there was no roll out and lots of plugged balls. Saw more employees than golfers. Course was in decent shape for this time of year. I believe only 1 hole was roped off from carts. Greens pretty decent shape. Played in under 3 hrs. It's a definite course to play when the course has dried out, and you get a good rate. There were a few more golfers on the other 2 courses.
Oleander challenge
Course was wet and grass long when played; Scenic with abundant wildlife; Challenging; True and fast greens with a few bare spots; Bunkers are well maintained; Difficult to find ball when just off the fairway; Pleasant staff;
Nice layout, lots of wildlife
We really liked the course. Played 18 holes in 3 hours 15 minutes. Some challenging holes but fair. Pretty course with lots of trees with spanish moss. Tons of wildlife-deer, birds and alligators.
Another great Jekyll Island course
Great, friendly staff. I walked up and asked if I could get a lesson and they made it happen. Fairways range from narrow to generous. Got behind a threesome waking, which slowed things down. Will probably play this one again before heading home.
You have to see Jeykl
Worth the drive down from Savannah, unfortunately there was lots of dew due to 8Am tee-off, would book after 10 in the fall. Oleander's review was that it was the most difficult o the Jeykl group, it would be a pleasure to play the other 3
Overall course is excellent, several greens suffering from too much rain.
Excellent time, despite CPO, following another rainy week. As expected, little roll because of abundant rain. Pace of 1st nine was excellent, 2nd was slower due to tournament on Indian Mound & Pine Lakes closed for for the day for normal maintenance. Calling ahead this time of year is smart to check for special events & tournaments , especially if using GolfNow for estimate of rate of play. Mid-afternoon tee times will allow lots of wildlife sightings. I found twice as many nice balls as I lost.
Beautiful course.
Enjoyed the course immensely. It had rained heavily the night before and the course had some standing water, but greens were in great shape.
Gray day but great golg
This is a very nice resort type course. Generous fairways, good greens and a tremendous staff.
Thanks for brighting a very gray dull day!
Fine day of golf
My wife and I enjoyed a fine summer afternoon at Oleander. Rain showers earlier in the day slowed fairways and greens somewhat, though sun was out our entire time.
Trees are more plentiful on this course though not as tight as I had feared from other reviews.
Shooting over water on 3 holes presents problems for lesser players as myself.
Golf Now hotdeals make it a great value.
Expected better for the area
Greens were sub par for other courses in resort destinations.
Oleander and Indian Mound
Played back nine of Oleander and front nine of indian Mound. Very similar feel don't think there is much distinction of the courses. Played early morning hotdeal great value. Course wet from recent rains, rough grabby making all shots difficult and greens slow so everything was left short, only made 1 put outside 10 feet. Greens on the smallish size so center yardage can be played no matter the pin placement. Nice place to play.
great courses
Jekyll golf is the best in area. The courses are well kept. Easy to get tee times and the restaurant is great.
pine lakes .jekeyll island
we played the Pine lakes course.
really love the Layout.
forgiving set up. allows you to recover. greens were recovering from verti cuts and aerating ; but still played true though a little slow.
first time on jekyll island
The course had a great layout. they have had heavy thunderstorms the last few nights. Which is why they haven't mowed the tees or greens. the greens were very slow and the tee boxes had grass that was taller than the ball. I rated the course on it's condition when I played it but I think it's usually in better shape.
Great Experience
Got an awesome rate on GN. Played with a foursome and threesome and were able to play back to back with no problems. Needed to let a twosome play through once, but received excellent customer service and had a wonderful experience. Scenery is great and wildlife doesn't seem to notice golfers in their habitat. I Will definitely play here again.
GOOD VALUE... BUT
Got a great price for 2 players. Tees and fairways are in good shape. Greens are not. We played as 2some. We played fast.
Course staff are very friendly.
Overall a good deal
Not my best day at Oleander
The course was not in the greatest of shape as they had lots of weather recently. Greens also had apparently been recently sanded and aerated.
Rather Disapointing
It had been a long time since last playing Oleander and unfortunately it has slipped a lot downhill. The fairways were OK but the greens and bunkers were quite disappointing. The greens were slow, rough and bumpy and several had large patches. Bunkers had not been groomed for an obviously long time. But the worst was terrible pace of play. We did fine on the front nine but ran into extremely slow play on the back nine. It took over an hour to play the next three holes. Not a ranger was in sight, nor was there a beverage cart.
It will be a long time again before I play this course again -- if ever.
Loved it.
This was an absolutely gorgeous golf course! I will be coming back to play again in the future.
