Tale of two nines

It doesn't become the mountain course until the back nine. Back nine is a great layout, very pretty, challenging but fair. Front nine is open, rather dull and somewhat unfriendly with elevated greens that aren't receptive and typical Pete Dye shenanigans. If I was to play again, I'd like to skip the front and play the back twice..

Great course in perfect condition!

I've never played a course in more perfect condition. Everything from the fairways, to the fringe, to the greens were flawless. The groundskeeping team deserves all the applause. Holes 14 and 16 come with great views and some fun challenges if you're looking for that. The sun began to set around 4:45 so we were able to get in 16 out of 18 holes with a 1:10pm tee time, so keep that in mind if you're booking times during the winter months.

The only complaint we have is that some employees weren't wearing masks inside the clubhouse. After 10 months of this pandemic you'd think they'd know by now to just wear the mask so people can continue to golf in safety.

Great Course - Tee Off - No Flexibility

Nice course and experience. With a COVID change Tee-off had NO Flexibility for changes. Also poor Customer interface.

Weird!!

This is a fancy course, rated among the top 100 in the country. After playing there once I can almost agree with this. But the thing that I can't quite understand is why a top 100 course has little to no sand in its bunkers!? And it has a lot of bunkers. Is it because the management can't afford it? I dunno. But hey, when I play a top 100 course I actually expect deep, loose sand in the bunkers, not a dusting of it over rock hard dirt. I'm here to tell you that hitting a splash shot out of a dirt bunker is not possible.

Best PGA west course

Course was in great condition. Greens rolled fast and true. Fairway was green and lush. The mountain course is the most picturesque and best layout of all pga west. I highly recommend it to everyone.
