PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course

Very nice course in good condition. Not easy by any means, but not dyeabolical (Pete Dye course) if you play the correct tees. Greens were pristine and tees and fairways just as good. Bunkers were hit and miss. Front nine is fun but not memorable. Back nine is as spectacular as advertised. Pace of play was horrible, almost 5 hours, but I get it on a weekend in prime season on a difficult course. I highly recommend and say it’s right there with the other top end public courses in the neighborhood.

Loved the course and being in the mountains with those views is just incredible!! Elevated greens so if you were short you were down in a bowl with difficult chips but they told us that and gave the advice to club up due to that which was nice.

Value for the money was great and will definitely play it again next trip!!

Very cool course to play with! My wife make first birde in her life, she was so happy.

First time here and I was very impressed. 4 hour round mid day and the back 9 is filled with awesome views. A must play

I’ve played the Mountain course a few times and it never disappoints. Most holes are against the mountain or have a great mountain view with some scenic backdrops for pictures. Course conditions were good. The course is challenging but very fair. Back tees are under 6700 and no holes are overly long. Range was closed at 645 am on Sunday which I found a bit odd. Staff was very friendly. I’ll be back!

Love this course. Beautiful back 9! Unfortunately the tee boxes are badly maintained, and the rough has not been over seeded for a few years. Hoping the new owners will get this course back to its glory!

The staff was very friendly. I golf all over the world. the first time I had to pay 35 bucks to have my wife tagalong.

I had bored a late time and was about to be a single behind a number of 4’s. The Starter suggested I play with a 3some on the back 9 and was welcomed. Had an enjoyable back and then played the front solo in an hour finishing in good light. Great course and the Starter helped to make it a great day☀️

The course was a fantastic layout.

Unfortunately not a good time of year for grass off fairways(first cut-rough). Dormant Bermuda grass.

The fairways were rye grass. They were beautiful

However, fairways are mostly narrow

Greens were very firm and fast

We enjoyed the wide fairways. The water stations and washrooms are conveniently located and very clean. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. We definitely will come back.

Do not book a t time here if you are a single. They will you as if you are a bother. Making you feel completely unwelcome. Could not find the time using Golfnow and was angry I had it. At this price they should at least welcome you. Course is ok but only for large groups. Terrible management doesn’t not seem to care

On this course, the mountains edge most of the fairways. On the 4th, you play around the mountain. Just a beautiful course set in the mountains. There's an eerie silence on 14 and 15 as you're surrounded by the mountains. The 16th hole is incredible, 160 yard par 3, the tee box is 200 feet above the green, and between the tee box and green is a portion of rocky mountainside. Enjoy it.

This was a fun course to play and I would definitely return. The holes have great views and the fairways were in great condition. The greens were slow but should improve as you get farther along into the year.

The Mountain course is a delightful challenge. The only thing that was a negative was cart path only as they are still babying the overseed. But, the pace was great and we still finished in 4 hours. It is very fair and fun to play.

La Quinta the Mountain Course never disappoints.

The staff is very accommodating, helpful and always very friendly.

The views on the course re second to non If your golf is not up to par the views will make up for it.

2nd time playing La Quinta - Mountain course. Played it two years ago in May. Course was in good shape and as always, was a fun and challenging afternoon.
