Wekiva Golf Club
About
A solid course design and immaculate course conditions make Wekiva a favored golf destination. Crafted out of a wooded setting, it features many doglegs bordered by large stands of trees and no parallel fairways. Most holes are well bunkered with water coming into play on three holes.
A semi-private club that welcomes outside play, this 18-hole, 6,849 yard par 72 course has mature oaks, pines and palms; equitable undulating fairways; strategic bunkers and gentle mounding that highlights both the fairway and greens.
Wekiva, only 4 miles from I-4's exit 48, is a golf club in the truest sense.

#16 from Tee Photo submitted by Steve8905914 on 10/20/2014
The overall condition of the fairway and tee boxes and greens are poor at best- hard to understand seem like it get a lot of play why not make it great- I would imagine that if the course was plush- you would get even more play and personally I would pay more for a round that’s in good/great condition
Still Needs Work
The course is under new management and it will take a bit of time to see if they can return the course to enjoyable conditions. Some of the greens were in outstanding shape will a few others were not so good. A bit pricey for the condition of the course but understand they will need the revenue to make the required repairs to bring it back.
Nice people, poor condition
Great place to play if you want to get a quick round in with low traffic.
Course needs a lot of love though, lots of brown spots/no grass throughout the course
Not Worth the Time or Money
Course is incredibly beat up, weird layout, not unique or fun. Way too costly for the condition it’s in.
Needs grass
Overall Wekiva has a good layout and would be a solid course, but the course prevents an enjoyable golfing experience, especially when considering the price. If it cost $10 I wouldn’t complain, but for what they charge it is hard to justify playing a course where your short game shots will be from spots with no grass… and I’m not talking about when you’re in the bunkers (which are another issue). Seriously, there are holes at Wekiva where there is no grass around the green complex. Many bare spots on fairways. Greens are slow. And the tee boxes are rough. The new vinyl fence and cart paths are good, but I’d rather have grass than the fence at the course.
A Cow Pasture Minus the Cows
The description of this course on Golf Now is, "A lush, beautiful golf course..." Well, this may have once been true but, sadly, it's no longer accurate. The fairways are mostly weeds and crabgrass with the occasional smattering of some sort of grass. (I might have expected to see a cow or 2 or 3 wandering and grazing, but at least bovines are not currently part of the landscape... yet.) There are also many barren areas so be prepared to hit your shots off many bare, tight lies. The bunkers have some sand but each could use a partial truckload of new sand to make sure a sand shot does not dig into the earth itself. The greens are inconsistent, some having bare areas and some very good, though repairing ball marks seems anathema to many who play here. (Be prepared to be courteous and repair your ball mark as well as 2 or 3 others.)
There is a brick or block rest area that is accessible from both the front and back nines but, unfortunately, it was unusable as use requires a numeric door code which none of our threesome was given before starting. If you play here, be sure to ask for the code.
The layout is good and very challenging and would be a great test if course conditions were better. The staff was very friendly and the golf carts are in good condition so I have nothing but good to say about this.
For price, we had a Hot Deal so it was only $32.99 each whereas the standard green fee is about $53.00. For the Hot Deal, the price was OK but, for over $50, I would advise the reader to play elsewhere. For over $50, you will be underwhelmed.
