Wekiva Golf Club

I arrived to the course and was greeted by a friendly staff in the pro shop. I had read reviews about big numbers of groups teeing off. The pro shop personnel offered to send me off the back nine which was nice.

The fairways need some work, some were green, others looked like they were dormant. The greens were decent and rolled nicely. The sand traps were nice. Compared to other courses near it will be a while before I come back to play. I may try it later in the summer.

This is not the first time I've been stuck behind groups of 5 and even 6 players in one group. By the time we reached the 4th hole, we were backed up to the tune of 10-15+ min. at the tee. I've been behind oversized groups at other courses also. This is a phenomona that I have never experienced outside FL. What really bugs me though is the ignorance of the group, in that they lack the etiquette to let twosomes pass through.

The course is in the best condition I have ever seen and the new carts are terrific. Everything is great and the greens are lightning fast and hard. Really the only negative are the fivesomes on the course. Don't know why management allows this aggravating nuisance repeatedly. It does not benefit anyway and is very discouraging for anyone behind them. Kudos to the grounds workers for a fine job. Now if management would just appease almost everyone and ban fivesomes. A group of five players can play much more efficiently and effectively as a threesome and twosome. Additionally, I have never been behind a fivesome that moves at a normal to fast pace. It just does not happen. That is why they are banned on almost every course except del la Russa's (sp) Wekiva course.. It's time to get smart.

We played the front nine very fast, unfortunately the back was slower. Very windy day, made for longer holes and harder shots.. Fairways and , greens are good, some rough areas, overall a good experience for a first time play. I would play again.

The course was hosting a youth tournament that was running very late. We had 2 or 3 twosomes of very young children on the first few holes playing very slowly. After 1 1/2 hrs. thru 4 holes we called into the clubhouse to request a rain check and were told that we would just have to be patient. Very disappointing.

Start when you want we were told so after a bit of chipping practice off we went. There are elevation changes on a few holes but the first hole is the most dramatic (for Florida). First couple of holes are in great condition when you get to the third the fairway is well shall we say in need of a bit of TLC, its been left to its own devices for too long maybe its work in progress? This continues the rest of the way round. Its not in pristine condition. its only the fairways though the greens are in great condition. Make sure you read them well. The course is nice to play its not in pristine condition but your not paying pristine condition course prices either. I’d play it again but take more care over the green reading.

Course in good condition. Pace of play was biggest issue but overall very playable

The course is challenging enough. Plenty of sand traps. Every green is well guarded. The whole staff made my day a great one. They went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Even on my way to my car after my round, they thanked me for playing their course. This customer service goes a long way with me. Thanks guys for the fun round, I will be coming back.

Good layout. Played in 3 hours due to rain prior to my tee time. I would play the course again.

For a course tucked into sub-divisions ... feels remarkably outdoorsy. Well maintained greens, tee boxes and grounds. Friendly staff & a GREAT practice/warm-up area.

The course was in great condition given the time of the year (Feb). The greens were in great shape also. Plays lonngggg! Lot's of deep green side bunkers. Also, the staff (welcome committee) were fantastic.

Nice track, fairly priced. Greens rolled true but a bit slow. Raked in carts which means golfers forget them and don’t rake. Overall a good place to play

Fun course. Fairways were not in the best of shape. Had to move our ball on the green a few times so we didn’t have to putt through a bad area. Overall had a great time and scored well. Staff was awesome

A really nice course, with a variety of holes. Fairways and greens generally good. Would have rated it with 5 stars for value, but the only negative is that the cart paths are crumbly on many holes and, combined with fairways which are also somewhat bumpy. In addition, you have to cross a divided road several times. Neither of these shortcomings amount to much, and should not bother most golfers. However, for someone with a bad back, the "rough ride" is a major setback.

Staff was very friendly which always sets the tone for the day. Enjoyed the course, hardly any water hazards but bunkers were challenging. The condition and layout was very good. Definitely will play again and will always be on my favorites lisy.
