Great potential but borderline poor maintenance/conditions
Immense potential for this course, and under this new management they need to invest some of their budget towards higher maintenance standards. They could charge more than they do if they would repair the greens and keep the fairways manicured.
I think the track has potential, but in my years of experience playing there the course is in the worst shape it's ever been.
The staff friendliness is variable. The only marked improvement since Troon has been some differentiation between fairway and rough. The fairway alignment markers are almost a distraction v any help. To me the best feature has always been the greens and they were overrun by some random scurge-grass that made them almost unplayable. I hate to spear this place so badly because I'm friends with some of the staff there, but there needs to be more attention to the condition of the course before any deal make sense for me to play Carmel Highlands ever again! Please save this course, it's hard to see her in such disrepair!
This course has very good challeging Fairway and fine green.

Nice, easy, wide open
I like this course because it is really good value for your money. It's kept in really good condition and plays over wide fairways. There are some tricky shots but overall that is a great course for the intermediate player and doable for a beginner.
