Course Conditions are not good
The Course is cheap to play, but the conditions almost don't make it worth it. The grass (where there was grass) on several holes was dead or dying and there are a large number of areas that are just dirt in the middle of the fairways. The only nice part was the Greens are in relatively good condition, but getting there is interesting. The water hazards are maintained and look nice at the first hole, but the other areas that are supposed to be full are dry or just mud.
Course conditions are poor.
Tee boxes are not in good shape. Lack of water on course is evident. Fairways are thin and have bare spots.
Sloping fairways and greens are challenging for the weekend golfer
I signed up with GolfNow for the hot deal, great price, as a single. When I arrived I was told I'd be playing with three other singles, but two of them were ok'd to tee up early. That made for really slow play having foursomes in front and them not permitting us to play through. But as far as the course goes, the cross sloped fairways made accurate shot making a priority. The greens were in excellent condition, but their contours made for speed and breaks of your ball hard to read. Still, I enjoyed my outing. I'm not a competitive person so when my ball goes awry I literally laugh it off. I guess I laughed a lot yesterday.
Challenging and fun design, overall decent shape.
If you hit it where you're supposed to, then this course is in great shape. Since I'm frequently hitting my second from the rough I found myself in a lot of patchy crabgrass.
Greens were true and tend to break toward I-15.
The greens fees includes range balls, which would be a really nice touch if the course actually had a driving range. They do have worn out pads from which you can hit into nets.
I usually always walk, but here a cart is a must. Course is hilly and some tees are far from the previous green.
Some of the other reviews complained that the fairways were hard as a rock, I disagree as most of the actual fairways were just fine. But I can confirm that bunkers were basically just filled with hard dirt, not sand. By pure luck I happened to avoid any myself, but others who did spend some time in the traps really didn't seem to enjoy themselves.
Overall, for $22 with a cart (I got a hot deal on GolfNow), this course is worth the price. Much more than that and I'd play elsewhere.
Horrible conditions
Hit every single fairway and yet only twice did I have a decent lie on clean grass. The fairways are patchy and full of weeds, bare dirt, scrub, and clumps of grass. Even at a discounted rate on a weekend, this golf course is not worth the time. I would rather pay twice as much to play on a well-conditioned golf course. The greens were in decent shape, but it's hard to enjoy the greens when just getting the ball onto the greens from bad lies is an adventure.
A good backup course.
Much improved than a year ago. greens in great condition,
friendly staffs, fairways still can be better, and good value
for your money.
Great Course! Low Cost
When your golf partner is your son, and you know you'll be paying for his round too, (and buying the beers) Salt Creek offers a low green fee that's affordable! Course is in great shape for the heat of the summer, the staff is always happy to see you, and the beer cart is reasonable. Had my low 9 there for the year , 35 on the front, blew up on the back! What else is new! Can't wait to play there again!!!! GREAT JOB SALT CREEK STAFF!
Fun course for all!
This is the closest course to my house so it's convenient to visit. You can find tee times for under $30 in the afternoon even on a weekend. There are some challenging holes and many have elevation changes. It won't be confused with a manicured private course but it's fine and a great value. The staff is friendly and food/beer prices are reasonable. Bonus points for cute cart girl Britney. Worth a look.
An enjoyable Sunday afternoon for a reasonable price
The fairways and greens were in good shape, with a few dirt patches in/around the rough. Overall, the grass has filled in a lot since a few months back. The pace of play was a litle slow due to weekend crowd. The staff was friendly and helpful, overall an enjoyable Sunday afternoon for a reasonable price.
A wonderful variation of distance and hole layout.
The folks in charge keep the course in very good shape. I have been playing at this course for over 30 years off and on and it is still in great shape. I will go back.
This course is an embarrassment to golf.
I left at the turn because this course is so bad. I have never played a course in that bad of shape ever. Never a proper lie and brown grass EVERYWHERE. Greens are decent, but do yourself a favor and never play here unless Double Tree decides to make it a priority to atleast water the golf course. This course "right now" is not a 3.2 Star golf course. It is barely a 1 Star.
Dry, inconsistent greens, pretty good food.
Very dry, very yellow, patchy fairways. Not much green grass on the course. Greens were rolled differently on every hole. The pond is now a dry mud bed. I wouldn't pay more than $30 to play this course and the $69 weekend price tag is absurd. This course has potential, a little water goes a long way. Food is pretty good and the bar/restaurant staff was friendly and attentive. The salmon BLT is great.
very dry
Course was very dry. That is the biggest concern. Groundskeepers very annoying. Freeway noise horrible.
it's ok.
The course is very dry and the fairways are extremely patchy. The starter disappeared a few minutes before my tee time and never returned. He went to the clubhouse to check something and told me to wait on the 1st tee. 15 minutes after my tee time had passed, he still hadn't returned so I just decided to tee off on my own.
Played this course for $20 really enjoyed the course. Some great views, some difficult holes, all in all great for the price!

great course
course is great place to play and to just have fun. wish i can play there more.
The fairway layout is pretty challenging.
Fairways are challenging and the greens are hard to read. Lots of andulations on greens. Most fairways are slanted to either left or right. The length of the course seems a little bit shorter than an average course. Overall, it's a great course to play, specially if the players like challenges and improve shots accuracy.
Inconsistency
Greens are large, well maintained and rolled well--needed to be cut on the weekends. Fairways are inconsistent and suffer from a lack of water. Off the fairways is an off-road experience with lumps, bumps, weeds and very inconsistent lies. Hopefully Troon management will help with investment and Hilton will insist on upgrades to the course.

found this course on golfnow as a hot deal and would not go back at full price. the course wasnt that bad, play was a good pace, found a few yardage markers on the fairway. but the condition of the fairway was a little bare / patchy in places. overall a decent course with a lot of tight par 4's.
Perfect for mid-hi handicapper as parallel fairways allow for missed shot recovery
Course in good shape, friendly staff, cart girl Richelle kept us stocked up on F&B, great value
