A little strange
Greens and fairways were in great shape but everything else was sort of weird. Every fairway bunker was under repair, the teebox grass was taller than the rough, there were very few on course amenities like no hole markers, yardage signs, course layouts, etc. It played sort of bare bones with long narrow holes which made it challenging.
Sad condition
Was once a favorite of mine. Sadly, it has deteriorated. Doesn't seem to have had much care given to it. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.
Poor Condition
We played here on Saturday and were very disappointed. The only thing that was okay were the fairways and even they were not consistent. The soil just off the fairways was hardpan dirt and tufts of dried dead grass. The greens were bumpy and looked like they had two different kinds of grass on them. It feels like they are cutting every corner possible, and the course is suffering for it. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I feel for them. Most of the golfers were not happy. All three of us felt it was not worth the money we paid.
Course overall
Nice layout good greens but a bit bumpy traps unplayable could see it one time this was a gem but not anymore. Murphy and his staff were wonderful.
Poor course conditions for the cost.
What a disappointment it was to play this icon of a course from the rat pack Era. The course is in rough shape from the fairways that were muddy to the many bunkers that were under repair without sand, wet or returning to their natural state. The greens had tufts of grass growing here and there and were like navigating potholes on a disintegrating roadway. At $90.00 a round I would never play this course again, nor would I recommend it to a friend!!
A Classic
Great "old School" Palm Springs course surrounded by classic mid-century modern homes, towering 70' palm trees. The course is a wee bit narrow but the fairway bunkers are almost all grown in making it a bit easier to play. The course plays long on some of the uphills but is a pleasure to play.
Dog track
The course needs work. This was the 6th course I played over 2 weeks. Greens are poor, must have some kind of fungus. Bunkers around the greens need sand. For $110, not worth it.
Poor Value
Course was in poor shape. Greens were bumpy. Lots of dead spots in rough. Value to cost was poor.
Historic Course Left Something to be Desired
First time playing here and was looking forward to pristine course conditions and a challenging course. The fairways were in good condition and green, but the rough and the areas between tee's were in rough shape. Dead yellow grass lined the perimeter of each fairway and the recent rains left lots of mud puddles around the cart paths. Kind of disappointing for the price. Would play the South Course instead next time. Clubhouse was old and not kept up well with the mid modern design. The course wandering through the neighborhood was fun and interesting. Great views of the mountains.
Don’t waste your time
No where near worth the price. Course was in sad shape. Sad to see such a property so badly neglected.
Indian Canyons North
Good track. Decent condition. Would definitely play there again although I like the North course better.
Go across the road to the south course.
This course has more of an old timey feel to it than their other course. If that isn’t so important to you when you’re golfing (which it isn’t to me) I would say the few extra dollars you spend to play at the south course are more than worth it. It has much better conditions and a more interesting layout.
Disappointing
Conditions well below expectations for the price. The greens were in particularly bad shape.
