Wonderful course - always play here when traveling to S. Florida
Course is very well managed. Very courteous staff, course is always in great conditions, have to read greens and place drives between the 96 sand traps. Very good test of golf for all levels of play.
Very accomodating staff. Lots of wind and sand on the course.
We enjoyed a recent round at Heron Bay. Fairways and greens were in very good condition. The sole complaint is that there are too many sand traps for the average player hitting from the white tees--good shots are frequently punished.
Beaches!
Service is OK, not more.
I played early on a cool (40s) windy day.
Layout is based on sand traps; the only defence for this course. Must have played a dozen shots from the sand.
Got a poor cart.
Several ground under repair areas but most were out of play.
Good course but just good.
Greens were rolling true but slow.
I am In Fort Lauderdale for 2 weeks; won't play this course twice.
Good layout but needs love
It is laid out well, you can make it as challenging as you want with the different tee boxes.
With that being said, the old girl needs some love. Watering would be a good start, fertilizer, and weed control would go a long way to impriving the golf experience. Maybe trim a tree or two.
This course has huge bunkers stategically placed. Smart shooting is required.
This course is covered with oversized bunkers. Either you hit before them or over them depending on your distance. The fairways are suprizingly wide. Even with a bad shot in your playing you still may have a chance to recover. I was suprized at the small greens and basically flat, but they are extremely fast, so a delicate chip or putt will get you close to the hole. I recommend the course to those who may want to practice thier bunker playing, because even the best player will find one or two in their round.
Challenging layout
Sand and water strategically placed for mid handicapper. Make sure you have your sand game honed in.
Interesting and different type course for south Florida.
Course in excellent shape for this time of the year in south Florida with minimum rain. Greens in excellent shape. Many, many sand traps which were in excellent shape.
For $39 great value, anymore than that, avoid
This is no longer the TPC course of old. The conditions are that of a public course. The fairways and rough desperately need attention - too many weeds and bare spots. The sand traps are filled with sea shells and gravel. For $39 at 2:00 on a Saturday, its fine. If you pay more then its simply not worth it.
Enjoyable South Florida Experience
Good Test of golf. If you have an aversion to sand it probably isn't the place for you. You can hit your driver without typical Florida consequences (ie. condo's and lakes lining fairways). Great practice area and carts with accurate GPS yardages. One of the better values currently in south Florida.
This is great track, no easy holes.
You can see that it was once aTPC course as every hole was a good test. Lots of traps that were well maintained. Greens were good and fair. In the wind it plays very long. Overall worth the time.
The course is well kept.
The course is well kept and has great features and is well laid out.
Very Good...
When we play on a previous TPC course, we expect dificulties, avoid the bunkers and you are in good shape, also, bring your "A" putting game and you`ll be alright. Mounir
Like the open concept,,,very forgiving....
Very Nature oriented and water is used wisely,,not over done even though on every hole
Now I see Why the Tour Doesn't play there any more!
Course has a challenging layout but I thought it was poorly maintained. the tee boxes were overgrown and the greens and fairways were in fair condition. For what we paid for the course I think it was overvalued and I would not play there again. To add insult to injury, they actually chaarge for driving range balls. This is a $30 golf course in Palm Springs.
OK experience
Course is in good condition and the staff is helpful. I would strongly suggest a morning round because the afternoon crowd is VERY slow. The number and location of the sand traps provide the only challenge on this cousre. What is usual for a Florida course is that water is not an issue at all.
Very good condition
Very nice golf course to play.
You have to manage your shots because of the 96 traps on the course.
Employees at the club house and everywhere on th e course were very nice to us. The only person that wasn't nice not only to us but to everyone was the starter, not a very friendly type, but once passed this person everything was excellent.
This course was rather bland for a former TPC course.
Course was in pretty good shape and the employees were friendly enough. Unfortunately we played the course on a Sunday afternoon when there were probably some less experienced golfer on the course which led to some slow play. The biggest complaint by one of the golfers in our group was that except for the traps there was not really not much character to the course (not many trees, not many doglegs, not much undulation in the greens).
Great golf course for the money.
Green where in great shape. This course has many sand traps and I mean a lot. They are all in great shape and full of sand. Fairways are perfect, just like pictures on there wedsite. This course is a must if you like playing ex PGA stops.
It's a great course, and it has a beautiful design and landscaping. However, the course is out of shape right now.

Greatest challenge
My group has been playing at Heron Bay each year since 2001. At the beginning, it was a TPC course and I swear that I hit 23 sand traps the first time that I played there. I'm not a good golfer, but I learned over the years to be a bit more selective regarding placement of the golf ball.
The TPC sold Heron Bay and the new owners let it slide a bit. Since the current ownership has taken over, the course is in much better shape.
It is a real course - make no mistake about it. If you are allergic to sand, you might not want to play here, but it is really a nice challenge. Generally wide-open and when the wind blows you need to fight through it.
The cost to play there is fair as well.
