Decent Florida style golf!
Go play it!! Have fun, nice quick round!! Greens were a bit lush, but still able to read !!
Tight fairways
Tight driving areas. Greens very good. Use every club in your bag. Good location in Fort Lauderdale.
Not again.
No help at the bag drop.
One beverage cart for two courses and the cart driver wasn't happy. Limited beverage choices, no hot dogs.
Tee boxes needed to be mowed.
People using the course to go for walks.
Not a great experience.
Pace
There are no marshalls to encourage players to move at a reasonable pace. Players with high handicaps should NOT play from the tips!!!!!!
Cypress
Love the layout and the course was in great condition. Pace of play was a little slow but the course was enjoyable to make up for that.
Best Value Course of My Trip
Prompt service at the bag drop and easy check in. Large practice green in very good shape, and a driving range off mats and grass into a pond. Tee boxes mostly level with roll-off on the sides. Fairways were in quite good shape, and amazingly dry after all the recent rain. Other than one Par-3, and one long par-4 there was not a carry-the-water shot unless you are way off center, although water is present on a lot of holes. Rough wasn't deep, but was fluffy, so you can expect the ball to drop into the grass. Most all greens are elevated and lightly undulating. These were the best greens we've seen in two weeks of playing - hated to put a ball mark on them, but when we did they repaired easily. Trees came into play on mildly off-line drives, but weren't too intrusive. Sand traps were still a bit wet and hard, though. At $32 (prepaid), it was the best of seven $25-$35/round courses we found in the FtL area.
Thank you so much for your positive comments and comprehensive review of the facility. We're so pleased with your perceptions and appreciate the "Players Tip" since some of our first time visitors struggle with logistics. We look forward to seeing you again in the future on your next visit to sunny South Florida!
Constantly good
This course and other Palm Aire courses in general are very consistent in their quality.
That's as concise and positive comment as I could hope to ask for from a client of our golf courses. Thanks so much for the positive review and I trust you'll come back to see us and play some of the other tracks at PACC!
Excellent/Impressive
Quick greeting upon arrival and bag load up. Everyone very personable and made me feel welcome. Course very well maintained and groomed. Some water but not over challenging. Greens very posh with some undulations but I was able to putt well. I really enjoyed this course (PalmAire Cypress) and will play again on my next visit.
Thanks for a great review, we are pleased with course conditions and trust you'll rely on us for your golf needs when you visit sunny South Florida again.
Great value
Played the Cypress course for the first time and I was definitely impressed. The greens were in great shape, they were a little slow but rolled true. The only issue with the course was that the turf on some fairways was so thin, that the ball was actually sitting on the dirt, because the grass wasn't able to support it. So it was actually a benefit to be in the light rough on some holes. Overall though, the course was in very good condition. I'm a fan of the layout as well, fun and challenging but not too difficult. The staff was great as well. I'll definitely be going back.
Thanks for the positive review! We're glad you like the Cypress and hope you'll come back to try some of the other tracks. We struggled in places with the health of the bermuda grasses and have been actively limiting invasive turf species. This has resulted in some thin areas but should rebound as the warm weather returns.
Nice courses at Palm Aire
We enjoy playing the Palm Aire courses! They are kept up rather nicely, the surrounding grounds are nice and neat. The greens were aerated a few weeks ago and had sand on them to temporarily smooth them out. They putted a little slow but just fine as far as I'm concerned. Depending on the tee used it has all the length you need. The further back you go the tougher it gets. I played the green tees which was 6370 yards and most of the time I had mid to long irons approaching the greens. My drives are not that long, only 220-230. Seemed all shots were shorter down here, maybe the humidity knocks the ball down more.
Nice Course
Well conditioned course, fairways and greens in good conditions considering lots of rain in the last days, good drainage.
Thanks for your kind comments, we have struggled this fall/winter with heavy rainfall but the courses continue to drain well and we're ready for the drier winter weather of January!!
Great Course - Great People
Played the Cypress course 3 days in a row, even though the greens had been recently spiked, they were still in very good condition with the rest of the course I would give 5 stars
Carlos at the pro shop & Shannon the cart attendant/starter were extremely nice & helpful.
We're glad you felt welcome and enjoyed your round. Summer maintenance cycles on the green are always a challenge but we're glad you still enjoyed the day. We look forward to seeing you when you return.
Good price for a good course.
We played cypress course. Greens were running nice and fair. It is a bit narrow on some holes. But great course for the value. We loved it.
Thanks for the feedback on our facility. Summer is always a challenge in keeping the rough under control and some of the fairways did tend to narrow a bit as the summer went on. Our Turf crew works very hard to keep best possible conditions and we hope you'll continue to visit us to see the courses in different seasons.
Profusion Rocks during the summer
Every summer I take advantage of Palm Aire's pro fusion special which at a very reasonable price includes unlimited golf, cart, range balls, and a delicious buffet. I get a post 2PM tee time which reduces the cost to less than $35 for everything. A military discount is also offered (I'm USAF ret). Palms greens were redone 2 yrs ago and are the fastest...I'd say 11. Cypress greens are very similar and both courses' fairways are nice Bermuda w/Cypress's a little more lush. Oaks greens were "puka'd"- was disappointed in the Oak's fairways...many thin even bare spots. Rough around the greens is really dense Bermuda...tough adjustment coming from bent grass. Driving range at the Oaks/Cyrpess has better grass than the Palms with lots of thin st Augustine grass there. Range ball buckets are large and a great value for the price. Palms Clubhouse looks shabby from outside & is immaculate and nicely furnished inside. Overall staff is awesome- Corey, Carlos in the clubhouse and Chuck and Ben in the cart areas were very friendly and customer oriented. Expect afternoon T-storms,hot humid WX. I had few if any golfers ahead or behind me which was relaxing. I've been playing these courses every summer for 8 yrs now on leave from VA. I look forward to next yr's golfing at Palm Aire. Tremendous value and overall good conditions
Wow, by far the most specific review we've had here at Palm Aire. We're thrilled you enjoy visiting and wish there were many more golfers like you who recognize the summer as a great alternative for the golfer who likes a quiet round and doesn't mind the heat so much. We also value learning about areas we can improve and the Oaks course did react harshly to a couple turf maintenance applications treating invasive grasses in the fairways. Meanwhile, I trust we'll see you back here next summer and we'll be ready to host your next high value round!!
Cypress vs. Oaks
I played the cypress course on saturday and the oaks today. Right now the cypress course is in better shape. The oaks course has many temp tee boxes and is really dried up. The greens are equally as good. Hreens are the best part. I recommend the cyprus course as of today. Both are well worth the small money...
A Good Play
Played on the 4th of July and had a great time. Was $25 for 18 holes and was a fun course.
Not bad
This course is a good bargain at $25 or less. NIce layout.
A nice time
We played in mid day and actually it was a very good time to play because it wasn't too crowded
Great course! Would play again!
Great course! New to the area and first time playing here. Course is very well kept for the price. I played for $24. Played the Cypress course, definitely would recommend it. Water comes into play on a few holes, in some cases I think yardage markers may be off, but other than that, great course!
Greens in great shape, but very slow day.
My family was in Pompano for the weekend and my Dad and I played the Cypress course. Our Tee time was at 8:30. When we got to the tee box at 8:23, a foursome who had a tee time at 8:15 had not teed off yet. Then there was a threesome in line, then another foursome who claimed they also had an 8:30 tee time. It never picked up from there, and there were no rangers out to keep people moving. The players were slow and poor course tee time management led to a very slow day. We waited about 10 minutes for a lot of shots. The 16th hole took us 30 minutes. Other than the pace of play, the course was in good shape. The greens and sand traps were nice. The course is thin in some areas and there are lots of condos around.
Thanks for your feedback, we're pleased to hear your reviews and hope that you'll return to visit Palm Aire again. Pace of play continues to be a challenge but as this means we're attracting more golfers, we'll keep working on the solution and trust that players will assist us in identifying our slow spots on busy days.
