A good test of golf
Once our group played this course, we have came back 4 times. Great layout, tough par 3's, get able par 5's. Greens are always good. Some things are dated and run down, i.e. Bunkers, cart paths. But we enjoy the layout.
Challenging course - Excellent condition except Bunkers
Challenging course - Tight off the tee box, good distance, and greens heavily protected by bunkers. Fairways, tee boxes and greens were in excellent condition, the greens were very undulating, fast but true. Only downfall to the course conditions were the bunkers, had very poor quality sand, which is a shame as there are many bunkers on the course that make it challenging and nice to look at. Didn't see a beverage cart out there for the round, did not bother us but may have bothered some that would like a drink.
Terrific find in Fort L area
Golfnow led me to this course. Great all around. Greens very nice.
Cypress at Palm Aire
It would have been nice to know that the greens were being aerated. greens were covered with sand and you could not get a good read on the breaks. It was a hot day and no beverage cart came by for the entire 18 holes. good thing we took 2 large cups of ice water before we started the round. Course was not extremely tough unless you didn't hit the fairways. the rough made it tough to find your ball. Overall good value
Excellent course.
Besides it being a hot week day, the course and play was great. The greens were in great shape and fast. The only downside were the yardage markers from the tee boxes were a bit off from the actual scorecard, which is bothersome on par 3's as I don't have a range finder. For example, hitting from the green markers, the scorecard for hole 4 said 199yds. I hit my 4 hybrid a few feet from the pin. However, on hole 7 said 201. Again, I took my 4 hybrid and this time, I hit it over with the same swing as I didn't try to crush it at all. I was expecting to come up short and the opposite happened so I was a bit confused and felt mislead from the information given.
Other than that, was great and I had the course to myself on a Tuesday.
Excellent pace of play :)
Nice track. Got out at 720 am and was back at club house at 936 am.
Fun, Challenging Course
I have played this course many times over the years. It is well laid out, challenging but fair. it is in great condition, the greens were surprisingly fast considering the amount of rain we have gotten recently. Fairways in good shape and the rough was difficult. Slow group in front of us, I wish there were rangers out to speed them up, but otherwise a good day.
Cypress course
You need to keep your drives in the fairway of this well manicured course. Shot placement a must as front 9 is narrow and challenging. Greens roll true. Staff is great. Great for the money!
Hot July Golf
Nice course. Good balance of challenges and play. Fun to play here. Probably not the course for a 95 degree day but you won't be disapointed if you play this one. Book the Oaks if you don't drive very long. This course plays long on the back half where the oaks is more forgiving and plays much shorter.
Much improved
The fairways are starting to fill in nicely. The greens are much better than the last time I played here a couple of months ago. Much less crowded now that the tourist season is over.
Very nice!
We had a great time and the course delivered to expectations. Maybe the refreshment cart should come around more often.
This course is excellent value
The course layout was awesome and challenging. Excellent value for your money!
Well worth playing
A good round of golf for the price. The greens held decently and rolled well for bermuda. A fair amount of water, fairway bunkers, one or two layup holes and some variety in length of par 3's.
Good course to start
Course is in fair shape fairways a bit bare, could use a little TLC. Course is tight so you need to hit it straight.
Good course
Nice Course. I enjoyed it.
best of the three palm aire courses
Fairways are cut way too short, making every shot from the fairway a tight lie shot. At times, it was better to hit from the rough!
Too slo-o-o-w
Whole experience was greatly diminished by pace of play. Granted, it is high season but ... this round was being played on a "rain check" because a round on the Cypress course a few days earlier required 3 1/4 hours for nine holes. That first time, staff appeared to be push people out to the first tee, where there was no starter to sort out pairings for singles, two-somes, etc. No sign of rangers on the course either. This latest time, there was a starter on No. 1 tee, which was helpful, but again, no rangers apparent. Pace of play only seemed marginally better.
Lies on the fairways were very tight, which I think is a problem for most amateurs.
I must also note the Cypress course has a "starter" outside the pro shop who is surly and discourteous. I would not mention this but for the fact I encountered this fellow a year ago when we were visiting, and such was the bad impression he made then that I recognized him immediately.
I have a cousin who lives here and plays the PGA Champions Tour, and he has respect for Cypress as a course and particularly its greens. Too bad I spent more time dawdling on tees and in fairways than appreciating the course, the weather and my playing companions.
Much brighter than expected
After playing the Palms, the Cypress was a nice alternative . Plenty of choices for the amateur with rolling fairways that help! We played the yellow tees and had fun.Par 4 s are possible. Sand traps well maintained and soft. Staff was very friendly.
Over priced and poor condition
The fairways were barren in places and thin in most. We had to allow placing the ball rather than as it lies. There were also 5 twosomes in a row so pace of place was slow.
Plays long (for seniors)
Great track. Had some interesting holes. A little long for those of us that don't hit the ball as far anymore. White Ts played 6100+. I couldn't reach many par 4s in regulation. Greens were hard to read for me. Would have played the Golds but they were less than 200 yds longer than the reds and playing with my wife she didn't think that was fair. Course needs a set of tees around 5800.
